I probably mentioned this earlier, but Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Nearly thirty years now. Ooh yes I'd love to see a production of this. Can you imagine the pressure on the team who eventually revive this? Fans have been waiting so long! |

With outdoor productions (comedy shows/SIX etc) seeing a bit of a boon at present due to the pandemic and ongoing social distancing, I wonder if it paves the way for a Starlight Express outdoor revival? It's a costly show to stage however it's done, but arguably could be easier and more lucrative to tour temporary large outdoor venues like car parks and sports fields. I also think it could work really well on that kind of scale.

I also think it could work really well on that kind of scale. That crossed my mind funnily enough. Especially as a purpose built (not in London) venue revival has been rumoured for a while. Was planning in my head an idea for the set design. And then thought of a reason they could never do it - the weather. Literally the very first drop of rain, before they even realise it's raining and can call the thing off, is so dangerous on skates. In Bochum they are obsessive (rightly so) about a drop of anything on the tracks. Could just never be viable outside sadly! |

Is your avatar the current Bochum set Dom? Yup! Well same set, different lighting design - was how they lit at as people were leaving post show before the 30th revamp. Was a lot prettier then! A John Napier/David Hersey masterpiece! |

A John Napier/David Hersey masterpiece! Still significantly more spectacular than the last tour over here with a couple of ramps onstage. Shocking. Really want to take my son to Bochum, as me & his Mum torment him all the time with tales of the immersive Apollo Vic spectacular. I’d happily watch it in a touring tent type surrounding. |

But in fairness... that was in Utah, in one of the driest regions of the USA. English summer though... yea, no chance  |

Can I just point out, viserys, that neither of the roofs at Wimbledon have had to be closed over the last fortnight, and there wasn't any mud at Glastonbury this year! 🙂 |

You definitely should! Equally as spectacular as London, though very different feel to it. London unique in the way it transformed a conventional theatre leading to the only (I think) asymmetrical Starlight set |

There was a reading with the cast in January 2015 and then no more, so that ship has sailed and sunk a long while ago.

Having loved the original Spiderwoman - it would be great to see this revived (and not in a fringe space)
It needs the bigger space for the escapist scenes to really take flight. Yes, a lot of it is very intimate - but you need something epic as well
