A decent staged production of Chess be good too - the ENO version didn't work for me.
Childen of Eden, Moby Dick and Baker's Wife also (never gonna happen lol).
Oh and Rent. Though of course that was at the St James' relatively recently....
Song and Dance though think the fact that Tell Me has toured so much on it's own, ALW may have totally abandoned Song and Dance as a concept.

Maybe we should get an on-line petition going for a fully staged Starlight Express revival? Give the people what they want ALW!
For a Sondheim musical, I’d love to see A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. I’ve never seen it so it would be another one to tick off the list.

Sunset Boulevard. I've always avoided ALW and only went to see it at the Coliseum because of Glenn Close. Was very pleasantly surprised and saw the tour with Ria Jones too. Such a great score, the staging of As if We Never Said Goodbye on the tour was beautiful.
West Side Story. Would love to see a big West End production, with a large cast and orchestra. I guess I might if the Ivo van Hove one transfers...
Those are the two that spring to mind, but there's loads.

I would've said SITPWG last week, very glad to finally see it onstage. Would still love to see it at Regent's Park.
It would be nice for the National to do some more big old fashioned musicals as they did with Follies! A revival of their Carousel would be nice, but I'd love to see some more full Sondheim productions, we're on a roll just now. Preferably Into the Woods or Gypsy. Would be nice for Ms Elliot to have a go at another.
I'd still love to see The Color Purple on the WE. Interested to see if the upcoming curve production will have a further life.

Is it too early to ask for a Guys and Dolls revival?...
I've not seen it before but would want to see a decent full-scale production however I keep missing the recent major productions (though by the sound of it, I'm glad I missed the RAH concert).
Also, with the recent news of Michael Ball returning as Edna and Adam Cooper in Singin in the Rain (another Chichester production), it has made me wish that Ball and Staunton would bring back Sweeney Todd too.

Pacific Overtures for me, please. In the Olivier directed by Dominic Cooke. I've never seen any other Frank Loesser musical than Guys and Dolls so I agree with The Most Happy Fella and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

I also want the Open Air theatre to stage SITPWG but I guess I have to wait a good ten years or so for that to happen! This also is my dream revival. But seeing as the Savoy has bagsied it, I guess I could stand for the Open Air Theatre to do The Secret Garden instead.

I'd love to see Martin Guerre revived. 100% agree! I did hear it was being worked on by Boublil and Schonberg (but without Cameron who said he could take it no further but wished it well) - that has also gone quiet though!
Yes, there seems to be rumours every few years that they are working on something, but it never happens. I'd happily take a version with the best bits from the London production and UK tour production. But it must have the original Overture and Working on the Land.

Oh I totally agree - the original overture and ending (Land of the Fathers) were anthemic - very odd that melody was cut completely from the tour version. Indeed, both the original and tour had better and worse elements and a best bits combo would be ideal. Sorry to have never seen either and to only know them from the recordings. Much like Chess, the fact that there has been so much tinkering over the years and the creators have never quite been happy with it makes it all the more interesting. I never saw it, but there was apparently a version 2 in the original London run with significant changes from the CD. Also very strange that they used the alternate in the cast recording (the main actress must have been livid)..... Fascinating stuff!

A transfer of the REX West Side Story would be great. And the current Broadway production of Oklahoma.
Seconded to the suggestion of a full production of Chess and a West End revival of Rent as well.

The recent Broadway revival of Once on this Island was glorious and I'd love to see it again over here. Highly doubt it would actually happen, however.

Rebecca Lock was a million times better than Juliette Caton vocally, so it made sense to record her. The version we were left with by the time it left the Prince Edward is what I remember fondly, but the ‘tour’ did add the lovely ‘Live With Someone You Love’. Also, setting fire to the Proscenium was quite effective too. In short, amalgamate the two and sort the book out.

I saw one of the first ever Martin Guerre performances when it opened and I thoroughly enjoyed the music. There is always going to be a lack of tension in the plot because you can't hide from the fact that the key reveal is not a surprise to the audience. That is something that is just integral to the story and I don't see an easy way round it in terms of rewriting/restructuring the book.
On the whole, I do prefer the first version of the score to the further revisions. There are perhaps a couple of newer numbers that are worth retaining - but I would base things on the original - very much so in the case of Bethlehem - which is wonderful as originally conceived but less effective with the revised lyrics.
I do remember seeing a young James Corden in the original cast - one of those faces you don't forget.
Perhaps they need to do what they did with Chess for many years and that is make it available to amateurs with all the available material and allow them to shape it to suit what they want to do with their own particular production.
There is so much good music (a lot more compared to The Pirate Queen) that it is a shame for it not to be heard in some form.

I'd like to see the Guys and Dolls Paris production come over to London.
Also, is it too early to ask for the return of 42nd Street?!

Wouldn't mind a proper massive revival of Ragtime in like the Olivier or a big open space like that.
