No idea why people moaning about this guy’s voice. He’s got a lovely soft and clean tone, with appropriate power. And I assume - since they could have had anyone and cast him - that he’s the man for the role!

I liked most of it (except him saying "noo", please let a vocal coach suggest he changes that!) but thought at the end he wasn't powerful enough to balance with the full orchestra, which took over.
But then, hopefully if this is one of his big numbers he still has plenty of time to work on it.

There's a "tha' choo" in there as well. But I'm sure those can be ironed out easily enough. I'll be interested to hear whether he's encouraged to make some of his vowels more English, or whether he keeps his accent.

This may have been commented on before - but CD release casting (as listed by Amazon Germany) has Sarah Brightman on the first track (prologue I guess), Adam Lambert on a few tracks later in the story, Helen George throughout, and Todrick Hall on the final track (which I imagine is a bonus redo of a main song).

Would you be able to post the link for this tracklisting?

Just search Cinderella Lloyd Webber on Amazon and it is all there thank you. I wonder if this is the full cast for the show on this soundtrack. Or just people to be used on the soundtrack?

Looks like party cast recording and partly bonus tracks. I can't for the life of me imagine that Adam Lambert will be doing this show when he can be doing stadium tours with Queen.

When Laura Baldwin wasn’t in the cast for the rescheduled Alexandra Palace Sunset Boulevard, I had my suspicions that she was going to be in Cinderella (due to timings and social media activity)

I know what you mean, and it would be surprising, but I just wonder... Track 30 out of 39 seem like it should be main show rather than a bonus track — otherwise that would mean a quarter of the tracks aren't actually the show. He sings in 30, 31, 32 and 35 which seems quite a lot for somebody not doing it! Presuming Far Too Late is a Cinders solo, that narrows down its place in the show quite considerably — 6 (too early?), 26 or 34 I think. 6 or 26 if 30 onwards are bonus tracks.

And I assume - since they could have had anyone and cast him - that he’s the man for the role! Thin voice, bad phrasing, bad breathing, odd liasons (taking the consonant over to the next vowel, stressing the wrong words, bad modern vocal placing “atchooooo”, higher doesn’t mean louder, pitchy, scoops to notes, uncertain on entry notes, falls off others ........ These are just some of the reason I don’t like the guys sweet voice. It’s 7/10 and knowing the talent in this country many male singers are 9 or 10/10. Gorgeous song - average voice.

In fairness to him, he was auditioning as a dancer. I think ALW is trying make a Cinderella story happen with him...

"See me as I am, and hope to be" "You were always in plain sight" "Out of my dreams, into the light" "Everything wrong seems right" "Right beside me all this time"
Are we about to have our first ALW transitioning character?

Yes I dont think this is the classic Prince or love story now, which acrually makes this casting seem a bit more suitable than it did to begin with.

When Laura Baldwin wasn’t in the cast for the rescheduled Alexandra Palace Sunset Boulevard, I had my suspicions that she was going to be in Cinderella (due to timings and social media activity) All the names now removed from Amazon... clearly a comms mess-up. Amazon's track record (badumtish) isn't all that great so I'd not be surprised if there are some errors / omissions. And yes, doubt that a chunk of the names on the CR will be in the actual show. Feel as though it's wrong to report on things in news that haven't been confirmed by verified sources – disrupts the exciting reveals done by productions – which are usually a lot more premium and vibrant... why would they spend thousands on photoshoots and video recordings for it all just to get shouted about on twitter !

More from ALW. The new seats at the Gillian Lynne look very smart indeed. Maybe it's the angle, but the ones at the front look wider than usual.
