thanks one and all. If I get get to see it cheaply one day, maybe I will. I'm still not completely sold based on the descriptions.
(although the music is a fun listen)

Saw this on Saturday and it was such a joy. I entered the lottery on their website and won my first time - from chatting to the people around me it seems others also won on their first time, so they might be trying to make the lottery accessible for newbies. The show was fab - we had two understudies but they were excellent and I was not left wanting. Fun silly and riotous - definitely recommend

Saw this tonight, absolutely incredible, can't believe 5 performers can do all that! I saw it last Tuesday night - oh my gosh what a show! I'd listened to bits of the cast recording, but hadn't been that impressed, but seeing it love... absolutely fantastic! As you so rightly say, how can 5 performers do all that? We had Christian on for Hester, who was the real stand out star of the night. His 'Dear Bill' was absolutely heartbreaking - so well performed. The act 2 finale is utterly bonkers and I still get the biggest smile on my face thinking about it. I'll definitely be back for another viewing! Christian is tremendous - equally as good as Jak. It's a great thing that the core cast/writers who've been together making work for at least 10 yrs wrote such great parts for 'the other two' in the cast. Artistic generosity in general radiates from the stage.

I remember Christian being on when I saw the show. I'm usually geeky enough to know if a cover/understudy will be on but didn't notice until the interval with this. I had listened to the cast recording several times through and didn't notice the difference in his voice!

Congratulations to Operation Mincemeat for their SIX Olivier nominations!!!! It’s a highly competitive year I’m especially impressed with all the acting noms. Amazing!!!

Just picked up a ticket for the April 9th matinee. Am seeing Underdog: The Other Other Bronte in the evening and thought I'd make a day of it, this was the only Tuesday matinee option that seemed interesting!

I quite like the show; I've already seen one tuesday matinee and have two more tickets to another couple tuesday matinees. Honestly, it was the probably one of the top 3 of the 9 shows I saw on my last trip (from Australia)

I happen to have a spare ticket going for tonight as my guest has fallen ill. L row Stalls, going for £27 as won in the lottery. I know it's late notice but private DM me if interested.
Either way, I'll provide my thoughts on the show tonight now that I'll shortly have finally seen it!

I'm going to see the show for the first time next Saturday evening before the Oliviers - does anyone know if the original cast are still in/scheduled to perform?

There has been no cast change at all, the original cast & their covers are still all there.
As far as I’m aware it’s never officially announced in advance if the main cast will be on or not, or their covers. But honestly, I’ve seen 3 of the 4 covers and they were all fabulous. Might be slightly sacrilegious to say but I actually slightly prefer Christian Andrews to Jak Malone in the role of Hester and others (Jak is also brilliant though!)
There’s a printed sheet in the foyer as you go in saying who’s on that night. I think if you get deep enough in the online fandom there’s some kind of secret emoji code on Twitter as well.

Well this was a lot of fun!
My first time in the Fortune to the best of my memory, and it’s got to be a contender for the most cramped theatre in the West End. B2 dress circle was wildly shallow for leg room, thank god B1 isn’t sold (sight line directly facing door to a box) so I was able to sit angled, and I’m only 5’ 3’’! I can’t think of another theatre I’ve been to in recent times where I think I could have successfully leapt from the circle on to the stage. What a tight little number all round!

On the website it says that middle stalls seats are reserved for people on the mailing list. I have signed up for the mailing list but received no emails. Does this just come out periodically when they release seats with advance booking? Or should I be expecting an email with a link to book existing tickets that aren't shown on the website? If there aren't any additional seats available can anyone tell me if I would be best off sitting in the very front row (AA) or very back row of the stalls as they are the only ones available the day I want to go that aren't right at the side.

My friend and I were sat in stalls K4 and K5 (second to back row) and the view was great from there. Full view of the stage, and superb amounts of legroom (I'm 6ft2 and was very comfortable!).

I haven't sat there but have heard that the front row is terrible - non-existent leg room, and a very high stage. I've sat a couple of rows from the back of the stalls and still had a great view, as it's such a small theatre.

I was in row 4/5 and that felt very close, AA wouldn't be for me at all.

What an incredible achievement for the show as a whole, as well as Jak. When I first saw it at Southwark, I was almost shaking with adrenaline and knew it would have a fabulous future and this is such well deserved recognition.
Will be there tonight. I hope the cast get an even more rapturous reception than usual (and that they ad lib an Olivier reference into the scene near the end!). I also hope they aren’t too hungover, although maybe that would be quite funny as well…
Visit number 13 for me looks to be a lucky one, with Geri on as Bevan meaning I will have finally seen all cover tracks ahead of next month’s cast change (not counting second covers!).

Has the new cast been announced?

Has the new cast been announced? No, not yet. Must be imminent now that the Oliviers is over and the new cast is expected to start from 13th May (unconfirmed). For the eagle eyed on social media, it won’t have gone unnoticed that Jennifer Caldwell is moving to London this week. Just in time for rehearsals, you might say.

Oh that is interesting (potential) news about Jen Caldwell. I saw her in Fantastically Great Women last month and when she performed Deeds Not Words I thought to myself she’d be a good fit for Mincemeat.

She was also brilliant in I Wish My Life Were Like a Musical. Definite Monty vibes.
Another name I have heard mentioned is Chloe Hart, not sure if she would be a better fit for Jean or Bevan though as I’ve not seen her perform. She’s definitely starting a new job soon, so again the dates would fit.
Either way, we will surely find out in days rather than weeks now.

Okay, now you've got me obsessing over the idea of Jen Caldwell as Monty. Would be a very good bit of casting!

Assuming a cast change is on the horizon, I'd love to see the current cast one last time. I was hoping they'd announce the change quite far in advance but it's not looking like that now if that mid-May date is anything to go by!
Not sure how likely a return visit will be at short notice with the ticket prices being what they are and the lottery so difficult to win these days. Last night's triumphs at the Oliviers will probably up the demand for tickets too - no bad thing.

By any chance is there a way I can discover who performed in which roles at the April 9th matinee? I didn’t buy a programme or snap a cast list pic in the foyer!
