Promising and I think a realistic date.

Oh good. It’s a barn this musical will never fill, so makes sense. They might have the advantage of being one of the only shows open, which could drive sales!

Maybe all of the shows that played to empty houses were ahead of the curve and were just ‘socially distancing’?!
I admire their enthusiasm- but I cannot see them starting in November. I bet this is just to get a bit of extra publicity , it’s hardly the show on everyone’s lips.

Come on now, you can’t have it both ways - complaining about Phantom in that thread, saying London can do without it and wanting a new show instead, yet mocking a new show for struggling to find an audience in the onset of a global pandemic. If you want new shows in London Mr Barnaby, that glass needs to be at least half full.

It’s a lovely show and I enjoyed it!
Mr B was it you who once said you don’t like 80% of the theatre you see? I can’t remember 🙂

I think this is great news - I remember the film from when I was younger which I loved - saw this before lockdown and loved it too! I agree it's not perfect but very nostalgic and, in my opinion, it deserves a proper chance.

Anyone know which show is coming to the dominion after Prince of Eygpt? Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads...

If you want new shows in London Mr Barnaby, that glass needs to be at least half full. I want GOOD shows playing in London, preferably. But you need new shows in order to decide if they’re good or not. You shouldn’t mock something for struggling - it’s hard enough launching a musical in London that’s never been on Broadway (for some reason), so throw in the fact they’ve picked a very large theatre and opened during a global pandemic... clearly they believe in their production to keep going. ‘Good’ of course is subjective. We here, for example, disliked Thriller Live, but clearly there was an audience for it. Just be glad London has enough theatres for something for everyone.

Seriously if that comes to pass I would go down to London for it. It’s a lovely show.

Old news as new news. Baz announced this a couple of weeks ago. It will only go ahead in November, if government guidance allows it

Have said it before, but the Dominion with an open foyer and vast capacity is one of the few theatres they could operate with some version of social distancing.

Following the recent announcement from Nimax, I wonder if Nederlander will get in on the act and re-open The Prince of Egypt from 2 November as they previously indicated they were hoping to.

That is a shame. As have said before, the Dominion is a theatre you could socially distance in, and still get a lot of punters in. (Most of Bat's run could have been socially distanced lol). Ahh well, guess they don't feel as Nica Burns does, that they might get close to breaking even.

You could easily social distance in the Dominion, but all that fringing didnt come cheap and obviously needs a full house to pay for it
