Cast album released today - absolutely brilliant to listen to, outshines the actual show somewhat!

I have been listening to the album this morning. It is stunning! I had goosebumps right at the start with “Deliver Us” right up until the very end . I didn’t book to see the show, but am regretting it now. I will rectify that immediately, presuming it reopens, when all this madness is over!

Had this on while working from home this morning, so lovely to hear the songs again and it sounds fantastic. Glad they managed to get a recording out for this and I hope they get to re-open.

Listening to All I Ever Wanted... Luke Brady cannot sing. Also, there's no emotion to his voice at all. Yikes!

^Comparing to the Amick Byram version, Amick's voice is much more rich, mature Luke's voice is too clean, articulate, soulless.

Hmm.
Maybe it’s just the acoustics of the Dominion but this cast recording sounds weirdly muted and lacking in resonance.
The orchestrations, particularly in songs like Deliver Us, sound really reduced.
Agree that some of the vocals have a serious lack of emotion to them. Liam Tamne sounds auto tuned in all I ever wanted

yeah the cast recording is disappointing. The vocals were the only redeeming grace of the show on stage and they don't even come across well in this canned, artificial recording

I’ve quite enjoyed listening to this today whilst working. It’s tempted me to look at booking for when it reopens.

There are over 140 speakers in the Dominion, amped to the max with significant processing and effects to give the epic feel and impact that is required for the production. It would be nigh on impossible to replicate this wall of sound on a recording. What is missing is the sheer acoustic brilliance of the sound design for the Dominion, which is something that should win every major sound award in my humble opinion.

I dunno, i think i wanted it to be louder and be more a wall of sound at times. I didn't leave thinking it sounded amazing in particular. (but i loved the show) Maybe they were just having an off night in that department the night i went and to be fair it was still in previews i think.
Though to be fair as well I've been having problems with my ears recently and so maybe it was just me!

I thought the cast recording was great it's a shame I'll probably not get the chance to see it live.

Enjoyed it more than the actual show to be honest - you realise the music is very strong. Still annoyed that they totally screwed with “The Plagues” and made it awful.

Any idea where to buy a download of this? Just a stream on the website, I don't stream, and doesn't seem to be on Amazon e.g.

Yeah, they have spoiled "The Plagues" and the intensity between Moses and Rameses. Although I don't mind "Deliver Us", I do feel it works better slowed down. I think the pace on the cast recording takes away from the drama and desperation of the slaves a little.
Overall, the music is very strong in this show though.

Has anyone had any refunds from the Nederlander group? I'm still waiting on my refund from a performance back in March and having trouble getting a response from them.
All help gratefully received.
