So when they do the red sea bit and the platform protrudes out, where does it go? Just just out over the pit and they jump off into the aisle or what? It tilts up diagonally 45 degrees and then some of the ensemble slide down into the pit. It doesn't really protrude out much 😀

With regard to the "blobs" mentioned earlier. They are not "blobs" at all, they are in fact those coffee tables you see at garden centres made from a section of a tree trunk and polished. I still think the one that hangs looks more like a blob (or globule) but you're right that is exactly what the one on the floor looks like. But what a mouthful! I think blob surfaces or maybe a 'paint spill'? Honestly blob still works for me... It actually kind of reminds me of the lower part of the 'helicopter' that was always used on the Miss Saigon artwork... 'Blobby helicoptery' thing perhaps?

I really liked how the projections wrapped around the the walls of the theatre and out past the first few rows of the stalls, courtesy of more fringey curtainy things. So there were images of Sphinxy type thingies looking towards the stage. And I think that first image in intoanewlife ’s post above is beautiful. It depicts the secret chamber where Moses and Rameses meet as youngsters and later in life to discuss stuff. It looked great in real life too.

The chamber, the first borns and the sea parting did all look wonderful it has to be said. I also thought the scene with baby Moses floating on the river (despite the hokey 'choreography') also looked really pretty.

3 stars from Stage and Time Out.
The guardian review is probably the closest to how I feel. I'd have given 2 stars too

Technical issue at the press night tonight. Still not started, bars reopened. Oh dear... 45 mins late. Bet the producers were going mad! 2 stars in the Guardian. It was a night “plagued” by problems. Started 45 minutes late. Scott then came on to apologise and explain that two of the sound desk computers weren’t talking to each other. Moses then fell out of his basket during the weird human sea section at the start. Sound was dodgy. The well that Moses is down, unhooks as Tzipporah is winding it back up. The towels resembling babies that the ensemble then unfold - 2 of them were unfolded incorrectly and ruined it. That’s all I can think of right now... but you know what, I didn’t think it was terrible. The staging and projections were amazing, and whilst there were no stand out moments, I enjoyed the production and wasn’t bored. Think I’ll give it another go in a few months.

"Moses and the Amazing Polystyrene Brick Count" it will forever be to me now. I scraped it up to 3, just because of the ensemble work and excellent choreography. Truthfully, though, I can't recommend this show except for a laugh and some halfway decent effects. More on my site if anyone cares. I'm going tomorrow... can't wait...
I am intrigued though. This has such potential and I expect so much from these types of shows so I'm interested to see what they do (or don't do) with it.

Moses then fell out of his basket during the weird human sea section at the start. I'm sorry but I just can't get over this. A colleague was explaining it to me this morning and the images in my head are just amazing.

Honestly, I think this show can run a while...it just needs to find its audience in the long term like Wicked. Not sure it’s critics proof but if they throw money behind advertising and targeted marketing/social media and get production photos out there, I def think it could have a very healthy run.

I doubt it'll be the next Wicked by any stretch. A run similar to Shrek would be a success for DreamWorks.

^ It was energetic and creative, and the only thing that kept me going through most of the show... credit where it is due, it could have been as crass as the dialogue. I'm just yanking your chain...I've been dying to use that rolling gif for weeks I didn't mind it apart from the rolling and slow walks in a group to the front of the stage to supposedly create 'drama' x
