Have to say announcing a hot ticket like this and then putting tickets on sale a couple of hours later is a bit out of order - doesn't give people the chance to make sure they are around to book tickets, agree dates with people, etc.

Just generally, I wish theatres wouldn't do that 'thing' of announcing something exciting and putting tickets on sale that same day - or at stupid times like 8.30am. |

I’m going to wait for dayseats/lottery as I read some of the original reviews as part of my Fleabag obsession and it didn’t seem to be overwhelmingly adored. |

I read some of the original reviews I wonder if it has done an 'Alf Garnett' regarding the fandom? Reading Lyn Gardner's original 2013 review, she describes a show about a woman who comes across as a victim of porn culture. On TV, with all the trappings of her wealthy background visible and a stellar cast like a Hugh Grant romcom, it instead seems to be being consumed as aspirational, with the clothes she wears and drinks she drinks flying off the shelves. The Londonist tweet today was particularly striking : "tickets hotter than a priest commanding you to kneel." It's become a sort of Richard Curtis' 50 Shades or something, with a dash of Nigella's winks to camera. |

You could be completely tied up in work for the whole day and boom, like someone above, you've missed the whole shebang. Poor form. |

Any method of selling hot tickets is going to work for some and not others. Giving a week's notice of the onsale time will still result in some people losing out because that time doesn't work for them. This sale clearly worked for enough people to sell it out.
Row A being off sale as mentioned above possibly suggests dayseats. If so, that queue will be interesting.

I wonder how many of those who've paid silly money actually know what they've booked for. I bet there's a fair few who think they are seeing TV's Fleabag on stage - and will be expecting a full cast (complete with Olivia Coleman and Andrew Scott) and a two act play with set and costumes. Ah well - I'm sure they'll enjoy their £2 a minute monologue - and the chair and rug are lovely - and they match her jumper. In all fairness great writing and acting really is difficult to put a price on (I mean it's still cheaper than Man of La Mancha) - and this is writing and acting of the highest standard.
It looks as though in addition to the standing which has already been mentioned - 33 Front row and box seats will be on sale for £20 via lottery at the theatre daily.

With friends scrabbling to get balcony seats or maxing out their student overdrafts I sure do feel smug about being in the second row for this at Soho Theatre for less than £15. I even had a spare ticket nobody wanted. Hindsight eh.

Smugger still will be those who crowded into a small room in Underbelly to see its run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe where if I'm right in thinking it got quite mixed reviews. I recall some comments along the lines of "she's very good but gets quite tiresome". I wasn't one of the Underbelly-goers although I was at that Fringe, obviously the synopsis in the programme didn't grab my interest. I did catch it at the Soho and enjoyed it very much.
