So tickets are now on sale for the run, which is also in Wembley, currently 21st of March to the 3rd of May. Odd that they have tables at the front. Glad they haven't gone with a longer run though as who knows how well it'll do.

No cast announced for the full run. It's always been a bit vague about whether Michael D Xavier (and when did the D appear?) and Kimberley Walsh were just doing the workshop - but it would seem that that may be the case.

Why did anyone think this is a good idea.
Music completely forgettable. Cast look like they had 10 mins before curtain up to rehearse show...
Ironically for a show called sleepless, its a good cure for insomnia.
Wonder of act 2 will be any better......
Also seeing how many of the audience turn up for it....

Unfortunately lots of Zzzz's from me.
I walked at the interval. Well the act 1 closer was about not having any regrets.
How does it compare to the film?
The tempos of most songs are really slow. It's not a very lively score and it's such a cavernous space, hardly a theatre at all.

Act 2.... Was like watching act 1 again. Same bland music. Tbh they could have played the score from act 1 again, I don't think I would have noticed.
Set was a video wall, and a sofa they turned round numerous times!
Telling that after a bit of digging around, the the composer's writing credits are non existent. They directed a few shows then wrote this.
I wonder if it will actually make it to the full run next year. Think it would need a big star to even have a hope of shifting more than a handful of tickets.

Accepting that this production is a work in progress, I quite enjoyed it and think it has potential.
It’s a sweet story, very faithful to the film and both leads are good.
There’s very little set; the aforementioned sofa/bench and a few tables and chairs, and lots of projections. I thought depicting Sam's house as an architectural drawing was a nice touch, as that’s his profession.
Act one does take a while to get going, not much happens for ages and the songs are all a bit downbeat and samey. But it picks up as more characters are introduced and Act two is much better.
The things I hope they work on before the opening proper are: don’t dress everyone in black once the funeral scene is over, it looks awful; don’t block nearly all the ballads as being sung sitting down; improve comic timing and bring out the humour more and improve pace overall.
It was pretty full at the matinee and the audience seemed appreciative. My first visit to the venue (since it has become a theatre) and was impressed by comfy seats and good views, but found the lobby freezing and the bar a bit shambolic. It was warmer in the auditorium.

Ticket sales for this look abysmal. Surely it can't be long before they start discounting. I've got a Sunday matinee penciled in but have no intention of paying £55 a ticket!

Kimberley Walsh and Jay McGuinness confirmed to lead the main run of the show. They're joined by Daniel Casey as Walter, Harriet Thorpe as Eleanor, Tania Mathurin as Becky and Jake Sharp as Rob. Having been to this barn of a venue today.....this show is going to die a death in there, isn't it? It's huge! No disservice to Kimberley or Jay but they didn't get the crowds in for Big so this doesn't stand to fare much better. I hate to wish anything bad luck and I will probably go, but I expect there will be deals aplenty 😀

I want every musical to be a huge success but I'm not hopeful for Sleepless. I thought it was merely okay.
The location of the venue is a handicap for any show, the preview performances in December weren't well attended or paticularly well received.

I note on the theatre website that the dates of this have changed from 2nd June until 26th July. Still a bit optimistic imho.

I keep seeing the original dates advertised on the side of buses when I’m walking around. So they’ve tried to get the show known.

Rearranged again to 25 August to 3 October.
Maybe an outside chance those dates could happen. This is one venue where social distancing might be viable.
