I love Louise as Louise and I was part of that 90s fan base but she's never felt a natural fit for a theatre performer. I didn't see her in 9-5 or Cabaret (people I know weren't blown away) but I did see her in Fatal Attraction and she didn't look comfortable. She was dreadful in both

If they are going to get someone with name what about Mark Feehily from Westlife- he was a hit with the secret garden concert? or maybe like Shayne ward? I saw her in Cabaret and I wasn't blown away!

No announcement of Peter Andre as Vince Fontaine? Maybe someone else this time? Or he is still negotiating his days off….

If Peter Andre was going to be there, he'd be continuing doubling up as Teen Angel, surely? I can't imagine they'd employ an extra person. But Louise is only doing the start of the run, so it's quite possible that Peter Andre could rejoin later.

He only did 6wks last time.so could imagine him doing it again after Louise as he was only a cover last time… Did love him in this have to say too…

Saw Grease last night, first time since around late 90's.
I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either.
Dan as Danny just doesn't do it for me, there was nothing likeable about the character, and the strange noises he makes during Sandy was jus weird and off-putting. Solomon possibly could have made a great Kenickie, but something didn't quite click for me. Olivia as Sandy was fab - once past the lack of blonde hair - I get that the blonde was a throwback to the movie, but between the movie and 90s stage version, it's what I expect Sandy to look like. Jocasta was fab as expected, as were the rest of the cast overall. Louise as Teen Angel kind of worked, but I probably could have done without the 'stunt casting' but get that will bring in people that may not see the show.
The staging, didn't massively work, the whole gym set I just don't get.
Overall I enjoyed, but if I could, I would have brought back the 90s production, it always will have a special place in my heart.

I saw this last summer and actually left in the interval. The idea of seeing Louise as teen idol...god.

I saw this from the front row on Monday. There were some premium seats unsold in the rows behind me. It's largely the same production as last year, so I can really echo my previous comments, and say it's enjoyable, but don't think too much. For everyone who left during the interval, I do think there's more to the second half than the first half.
Louise Redknapp doesn't do Monday performances. I didn't realise this when I booked, but no matter, as Darren Bennett was on and you can't get much better.
I had a family sat behind me, who I'd classify as daughter, mother and grandmother, where at least two of them needed everything translating, which got rather annoying. Although their English seemed better during Hopelessly Devoted.
They have had added a new announcement at the start about being kind to the front of house staff. This venue still has the door staff who must have been trained by the same staff as the Hammersmith Apollo crew.
The new cast is good. They've put very different actor types in many of the roles, which takes a bit of getting used to. Quite a lot of restaging. Danny no longer attempts to launch a paper plane at the audience during act 2. Jocasta Almgill remains the highlight to watch. You do get to enjoy George Michaelides as Sonny, sounding exactly like his Romeo from Newsies, quite different to Damon Gould, but a very accomplished dancer, and he even manages to fit a cartwheel-backflip combination into the show. I was very impressed by Liam McHugh's vocals as Johnny Casino, as well as Sario Solomon's dancing (which he didn't get chance to show off in Allegiance). I'd better not single out anyone else, but there are some covers I'd really like to see.
I fear false memory syndrome here, but the Hand Jive Contest is Halloween themed, which is what at points last season, but was it always like that? Anyway, an impressive set and brilliant dancing during that scene.
I will certainly go back. There are some incredible ticket offers floating around. But this isn't high on the priority list with other shows that have much more limited runs. This plays until 28 October, and even with Jason and Peter returning, that's a lot of seats to fill.

Police were called during the show tonight to remove people for “a disturbance”. Anyone know what happened???

They (now? have always?) have an announcement saying that they expect everyone to be treated with respect including front of house and sound teams.
I saw Grease this afternoon. I'll post full thoughts sometime but the summary is the musical needs to be put to bed for a good few years before being old enough to be about "the old days" as there are some very uncomfortable issues with it in 2023.

I agree the show needs to be rested, to me it just doesn't feel like Grease. They should have dug out the old 90's script!
