Touring next festive season. Don't know if they have two sets or if it means no London run next year

As Devil Wears Prada will be at the Dominion next winter, possibly no London run next year and current set will be used for the tour dates. I haven’t seen the tour dates but assuming it’s for the bigger venues that don’t stage pantomime.

Wonder what's up with those rumours for this at TRDL then? Maybe a limited run in late December to January? A run between September to late October?
Makes what's been seemingly booked in at TRDL more of a blank.

I'm fairly local to Colchester (and have often directed some am dram there) and all of Colchester is so confused by this production. It's a pro production popping up in a venue that NEVER does live theatre (mainly stand up/live music/sports!) and no one seems to know anything about it! When the tour dates were announced today I was assuming that would answer all the questions and it would be part of the tour... but now it's even more confusing!

It's so bizarre, I did wonder if it was an amateur, but Jake quickenden (granted not exactly a big name) was announced initially to play buddy

Word of warning - the tour with Jordan Conway isn’t a production of the musical but let’s say an “interpretation” of it. It’s being produced by ‘The World’s Biggest Productions’ - which is run by Jon Conway, the father of Jordan Conway. They have become known for their ‘arena sized’ pantomimes over recent years including Peter Pan starring Boy George last year. They did a run of Elf a few years ago and managed to shoehorn in a roller skating act, some trapeze artists, Santa performing an trampolining routine and a ‘snowball fight’ with the audience. The children were as confused as we were. If you’re looking for a traditional production of Elf, the Conway tour ain’t it.

The tour isn't a tour of the London production, then there's a random separate Colchester production that's not even in a traditional theatre. I did think the tour casting was a little odd without one 'name' in the lead roles.
