Just what the West End needs, another revival (said sarcastically) I predict this will absolutely nose dive.

A limited run, and Miranda will only be doing a portion of it!

I'd love to catch Miranda in it. I'll be booking as soon as possible.

I'd love to catch Miranda in it. I'll be booking as soon as possible. I'd look at a May/June/July time trip then love. Usually celeb limited run contracts last around three months and as she is quite a busy comedian, she won't be in the show any longer than that I wouldn't imagine!

I am excited to see Annie again but I am not sure what I think of this particular production. I have seen the previous touring production quite a few times and I think I am stuck in my ways.

Clearly has been an ambition for her to play this role!
I probably won't be seeing it as I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I think she'll be good!

Too bad. She's quite funny, and I would have loved to see her in something a bit better.

If Miranda only does a limited run, I wouldn't be surprised if Lesley Joseph or Craig Revel Horwood do the rest of the run. I liked Lesley so would like to see her do it

It's one show that I've never seen but I am afraid I'm put off by Miranda Hart who will no doubt just be Miranda pretending to gallop and fall over. I'll wait to see who her replacement is.

I think this will do well in its limited run. It's a show nearly everyone is familiar with including the tourists and it's very popular with kids which there is a lack of in the West End since Charlie and the Chocolate Factory closed. Getting a familiar name like Miranda in will also get a lot of adults in too who will know her comedy, and if Craig takes over afterwards then even more strictly fans! I for one look forward to it, I enjoyed the tour last year and the set reminded me of Matilda

I agree I thought it was a pretty solid tour, and the set was VERY matilda-esque!
I think I'll wait to reserve judgement on Miranda, I know we haven't seen any other persona that her stand up and her comical buffoonery, but if she's always wanted to do the role she could well be a big surprise!
And after recent stunt casting failures, I'm sure producers are being careful in making sure their stars can actually do the role!

I really can't see Miranda Hart as Miss Hannigan tbh.

People are aware that Miranda Hart was also in Call the Midwife and was quite popular in that, right? I mean, the role wasn't exactly a huge (or even that tiny) stretch from her persona, but it's still acting to a script not written by herself for herself. She'll be fine, honestly.

I don't doubt for a second she can act, but can she sing and have the stamina for musical theatre? Miss Hannigan isn't the most demanding role IIRC so I think she'll be okay, she toured a one woman show a few years back so it's not like she not used to live performances

The joy this fills me with it unreal. I love Miranda, and just think its going to be a lot of fun watching her do this. She's going to be hilarious, we know she can act, and I'm pretty sure she'll be able to hold a tune. Very excited!

I'm somewhat stunned this hasn't been on the West End since 1998, and even more stunned that Paul O'Grady was Hannigan! After seeing him in Cinderella and how brilliant he was, he would be dream casting for that role, I wonder if he would consider returning afteŕ her. That would get me to the theatre in a heartbeat!
