Ben Mundy is off-stage swing on this production though, so you'll have to choose your dates carefully otherwise you may be sorely disappointed! What's an off stage swing compared to a swing ? Aren't all swings off the stage until they're needed ?! I thought I knew all the theatre phrases by now Haha my apologies - both on-stage & off-stage swings exist! mrmusicals explained in above much more succinctly than I was planning to in my head & that pretty much covers it! If a swing has an on-stage track (to bulk numbers as said above), it's sometimes the case that their track wouldn't be significant enough to make too much difference in case they had to step out of that track to fill in for an ensemble member. Either that, or they may have other swings to fill in for the track that belongs to the swing who is filling in for an ensemble member. If that makes sense! Then there are shows that just have their swings off-stage!

I seem to remember Holly Dale Spencer having a rather forceful vibrato. I'd understand her casting if she was Lily St Regis.. but not Grace.

Sorry for the long quote but I've no idea how to shorten it, admins delete as appropriate (or teach me how to delete lol) Well you learn something new everyday! I've never heard of a show having swings that are on stage, I thought they always sat in the back and that was it. What shows have on stage swings ?

Everytime I tried the whole thing just disappeared so I gave up caring. If it bothers anyone that much, they can report it to be edited or something haha.

Sorry for the long quote but I've no idea how to shorten it, admins delete as appropriate (or teach me how to delete lol) I don't know how well it works on a mobile, but in a regular browser you can highlight parts of the quote you don't want and press the delete key. However, sometimes that deletes the part that shows the previous poster's name as well and it screws everything up. Alternatively you can switch to BBCode and edit quotes quite easily. The other option is to highlight part of the post you want to quote and click the Quick Quote button that appears, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the quote has been copied into the Quick Reply box. Add your reply afterwards. But I don't use a mobile, so it could be that none of this will work for those who do.

I'm very relieved to see no actors I'm a particular fan of are in this so I'm spared having to see children being "sweet" on stage!

This is one of my favourite tours of recent years actually. I saw Jodie as Miss Hannigan and thought she was fab! Loved the design and, even though I don't know how she's going to be at singing, Miranda is going to smash the comedy of this out of the park.

I've never cracked a smile once.

I'm pretty sure she's going to be hilarious-ly dreadful in this. She can only 'play' herself.
I predict lots of prat falls pretending to be drunk.

A lot of the principals in the cast apart from Miranda did the last tour with Lesley Joseph and Craig RH. Nothing wrong with this, just wondered if it was same producers, hoping to have a good West End run on Miranda's name. Personally I'm not a huge Miranda fan but she'll pull in a decent audience and the show always sells well on tour, so hopefully West End run does okay.

This production is indeed the same as the last UK tour, with Michael Harrison and David Ian producing. I'm sure it well sell fairly well with Miranda's name. Also it has been nearly 20 years since the last West End revival, and it's still a pretty well known show.

I predict a mega hit with this. The Piccadilly will be occupied with it for years! Groan. Lots of names lined up for Hannigan to do a 3/6 month stint!

I have heard a completely unsubstantiated rumour (friend of a friend sort of thing, though I believe it started from someone who does work in a theatre ticket booking office) that Grease could be making a return to the Piccadilly after the tour finishes. Contracts go to March but tour dates go up to December & the website no longer has "further dates to be announced". What with Annie finishing in Jan it would certainly fit, but as I say, there's nothing to back it up!

Hopefully we get an inspired casting for Miss Hannigan for the second half of the run but I can see it being Lesley Joseph (has she been announced for a panto yet !?)
I love Jodie Prenger though, did anyone see her as Miss Hannigan in Oxford ?
