These characters are late-teenagers so I'd like to think they wouldn't be casting people in their late 30s/40. Not that it would be the first time.... Caissie Levy is 38 and Pattie Murin is 39... Don't get your hopes up. I know, and they're both amazing. Doesn't mean they're not too old though! 😀

As good an actress as Samantha is, I am too thinking she is not the right fit for Elsa. I just can't see her comfortably belting "Let It Go" every evening and maintaining the voice for the role.

While I agree Samantha Barks doesnt seem the right fit for Elsa, what have you been smoking to think she is 'mumsy'. kne of the last things I'd use to describe her. I think she could act the role but her voice doesnt seem powerful enough.
I'm all for not being ageist but the actors on broadway really didnt look right for those roles. Especially Anna, the whole key to her personality is a youthful exuberance and naivety which just doesnt quite work with someone who is and looks much older.

Maria Coyne would be an excellent choice for Anna

Don't think the Anna has been in a musical for a few years. Last saw her in the West End about 4 (?) Years ago

She’d make a more convincing Anna...or does Carrie have that one locked? I mean, honestly, I’d take CHF any day of the week over Sam Barks as either Elsa or Anna! 😜 I personally think she’s a way more talented vocalist and actress.

Sam Barks is Elsa tho... And Anna is neither of those people 🤷🏻♂️ I really don't think Barks is right for the role. Shes too mummsy for me. Maybe this is something you need to explore with your therapist, @theatremonkey? 😉

Maybe this is something you need to explore with your therapist, theatremonkey.com? 😉 I shall put therapists 3, 4 and possibly 7 and 8 on it indeed... thanks for the idea TallPaul I’m getting distinct ‘Ronnie Corbert in “Sorry”’ vibes off of this. Which is perhaps not fair to Ms Barks. But it’s my default ‘mumsy’ place. Though 5’7” you say? I may be doing you a disservice too @theatremonkey 😉

Didn't EVERYONE know this though? Like, Sam being Elsa is literally the worst kept secret in theatre land. Like, most as bad as Lucie being Jenna

Like, most as bad as Lucie being Jenna There’s a difference between knowing about it and tweeting the news out before it was official, like Carl always loves to do. And no I didn’t have a clue tbh

I think Lucie being Jenna was much more obvious (I mean, those bin posters and promotional appearances kinda gave that away).

Like, most as bad as Lucie being Jenna You're only pretending to know news only after they have been announced/rumored though. I think it's quite funny that you hinted that you know who is going to play Anna even though Baz just tweeted that they haven't auditioned yet.
