A revival of the producers - it’s fallen apart. Thank goodness. I couldn’t stand it last time. Second that, almost. I didn't hate it as much, and it had its moments, but not a show I'd watch again. It would also need some reworking too. |

Pretty 100% certaindespite what Mr Barnaby says they’ve asked Jon Richardson for Bloom. No idea about star casting or if it has indeed fallen through. This was a month ago and things change quickly

I can absolutely vouch for this, I don’t know what to say to you. Maybe they asked Charlie Stemp subsequently, I have no info on that, but I know for a fact Jon Richardson was offered this. Edit: I’ll add it fell apart because both sides were driving a hard bargain on venue cost. The production is NOT dead. But it *seems* to be dead at the TRDL. |

No idea on Roger DeBris or Bialystock, but Carmen Ghia was the most basic casting idea imaginable (it is who you think it is, probably with a pineapple on his head) and Ulla was going to be someone whose posterior was a source of discussion on these very boards in the semi-recent past. As I understand, both were seen and agreed in principle. I would hope if this does go ahead they have some quality casting elsewhere. |

As for Carmen I'm guessing either Rylan or Johannes from strictly? Sounds bloody awful casting all round tbh, and in a bit of an outdated show. |

Watched this a couple of weeks ago with my daughter.
Firstly, what a beautiful theatre, I think the most impressive we've visited so far. We were sat on row A of the Grand Circle, seats 11 and 12, very comfortable and a very good view.
We really enjoyed the show, we love Frozen the movie so were excited to see how it worked on stage. Jenna Lee-James as Elsa was wonderful, amazing voice. We had a cover Anna - Lizzy-Rose Esin-Kelly who was very good but I wondered if we missed a little chemistry with Hans. My daughter was a bit gutted to miss Laura Dawkes just because we'd heard she came straight out of drana school into the role and I think that's her dream too! Staging was impressive, that bridge, wow.
There were a LOT of young children dressed up as Elsa, Anna and Kristoff which we expected for a matinee still in the school xmas holidays. No real distracting behaviour but a general hum of young children during quieter moments. They all seemed to be loving it, a lot of first time theatre visits I would think. They all loved Olaf, very cute to hear them giggling and really enjoying him, we also thought Olaf was fabulous. We found the Hygge scene very funny.

Why do you consider this show to be particularly archaic? There are plenty of other West End long runners/revivals that could be deemed as ever more archaic? E.g. Guys & Dolls |
