This show is absolutely NOT playing to capacity audiences. Lies lies lies. When I saw it Saturday it was well sold but definitely not at capacity, especially in the £125 seats. It's target audience are also the ones feeling the pinch most from cost of living so I think it will be tough to fill that theatre in the coming year |

I'm going to see it when I get the right offer, mainly because I want to see the refurb and do a day of it, with tea at the café etc. |

Before I type anything else, I know I chose to see a matinee of a Disney musical…. But I wasn’t expecting to be sat next to a family with 3 children, 2 clearly under the age on the ticket as being allowed in, a stinky nappy and a Dad who decided to disappear for much of the second half. I can block out the talking and even the massage effect created by banging of the chairs, but a smell is much more difficult to ignore.
When I saw Beauty and the Beast on Tuesday (again a matinee), the commentary of a couple of girls near me was actually quite cute and funny so I’m no opposed to kids at the theatre, and actually I love that parents are willing to take their kids from a young age and to hopefully start an interest - but…
I’ve seen things about adult only performances - I would counter this with a morning performance (a bit like 10am pantos) that are more in the vein of relaxed performances for families with younger children. Even if the only change is having a bit of light in the auditorium, that might make the experience a little bit more manageable. Anyway, only a quick idea I had when the dad (when he was there) kept using his phone light to find snack after snack after snack for one of the kids….
The show - yeah I enjoyed it. Frozen can be quite dark at times and the trolls (or whatever they’re called now) light up eyes were a bit weird, but the design, performances and the show itself was good. Lost a lot of focus due to the above which was a shame.
Oh, and I also did a theatre tour in the morning. It was a good tour, but the only backstage are you go to is one of the old tunnels under the first row of stalls. Would have liked to have seen more of backstage but the guide kept making some Disney digs so guess it’s due to a mix of Disney and H&S! Got a lot of history info and got to go into areas you wouldn’t normally get to go in. I’d recommend it if you want to know more about the history of the theatre itself.

I am sure when I did a tour while Lord of the Rings was on we walked past dressing rooms but nothing more than that. it was still fab, and the recent one I did was too. It is very much a front of house tour, plus a few extras though. |

I haven’t seen Sarah O’Connor play Anna yet but she was incredible as Jenna in Waitress in 2019/20. She has a gorgeous voice. |

I had both lead understudies and tbh elsa outshone Anna, which I understand isn't the case usually. But yeah if you don't know any different you'll still enjoy the show. |

Ahh man, Steph is the beating heart of this show and is just fantastic. I realise its probably been a lot longer journey for her than the amount of time we’ve had to watch her but it seems so unfair that we only get her for a year. I hope it is for something fantastically high profile to make her a star!

It’s funny because I remember Sarah getting very positive reviews from everyone on here who saw her when she covered Jenna, she was probably my favourite out of the 6 Jennas I’ve seen, neck and neck with Sara Bareilles. Also even back in 2017 everyone was very complimentary of her turn as the mistress in Evita, making an impact in a small role. Maybe this just isn’t the role for her, it’s admittedly very different to Jenna. I did think she’d be more of an Elsa to be honest. I agree it’s interesting that the 2nd cover got promoted over her.

Last night was my third visit to Frozen and I still found it very exciting and spectacular.
I took 3 friends who do not speak English so thought this would be ideal for them and it was. They come from an island that does not really have theatres to speak of so you can imagine what they thought of this and the effects, they were blown away.
Sarah O'Connor was on as Anna and I thought she was excellent and Jacob Maynard on for Kristoff, again very good indeed.
From the stalls where I was sitting it was full and a pretty well behaved audience considering that there were a lot of children there. Only 1 person got up to go to the loo and although lots of rustling of sweet wrappers and paper bags generally pretty good. I did love hearing the kids when something special happened and you could tell how excited they were. Especially at the end of Act 1, i'm sure one or two little ones had almost wet themselves. It was really charming listening to their excitement.
I had tried to get the Disney Dayseats when they went on sale on the Monday but no luck. Ended up though with good stalls seats for £69.50 each which I don't think was bad.
