The news was about the second series of her podcast. Oh well, I got to feel like Sherlock Holmes for a good 18hrs...

Is this still happening? Will it open on time?
Surely they can’t if the audience isn’t socially distanced?
Hm

It's looking increasingly unlikely. The Broadway production will not reopen having lost Disney a substantial sum to keep going for 2 years. Added to their cinematic woes I can't see this happening.

Can't imagine they'll pull it - lots of investment already happened and ticket sales were strong.
Wouldn't be surprised if it gets postponed again though.
That said April is a long time away and much can happen between now and then.

Frozen is still scheduled to open in Sydney in 5 weeks time, with strict social distancing measures in place.

I just wish that had that ice castle and amazing hydraulics or cherry picker arms stretching out or SOMETHING.
A 1974 glitter curtain doesn’t cut the mustard. THATS why it closed on Broadway.

There were pictures of the hoardings going up outside the other day so one suspects that they think they’re on track...especially if we’ve all been inoculated by then.

Samantha looks amazing. I cannot wait I loved it on broadway I’m wonder if we’re getting the broadway version or touring version over here (so that it would be tourable in years to come) and also would be great if we get a cast album especially with the new song. Also wouldn’t surprise me if Disney film this for Disney plus like they did for Aladdin. I am so excited to see it again your all going to love it

We're getting the touring version with all the terrible changes to the score (First Time In Forever reprise and True Love both removed).
Sam looks great though.

Gutted true love has been removed it was one of my favs, and really added an extra few minutes in act 2.

I’m also shocked they couldn’t add the famous dress transformations into the flooring at the Drury lane especially with the refurbishment it’s had you’d think we’d get the broadway version. Then they’d bring the touring version over for when it does eventually tour, the uk. But I’m just glad we’re getting it over here and I’m looking forward to seeing this version of the show.

Oh I didn't mean the touring set, I meant the touring version of the show that they changed when it went out on tour (book and lyric changes).

That’s amazing news I knew they’d have to bring some the broadway set over with it after it closed over there. Question I’m in the upper circle row E what is the view like from there if anyone has ever sat up in the gods thank you and sorry for my continuous questions

General question about sets, how is it decided where the closed Broadway set will go in this sort of situation? I believe the show is about to open in Australia so why would they get a new set as opposed to London? Is it just a matter of distances?

The Australia production will be intended to move cities in Oz I imagine and also play New Zealand so that will be a slightly different set. London is a sit down production so they will want it to look more substantial and they will have more scope to go through the floor etc if needed.

You can check the view at seatplan or on theatre monkey too. I've sat there a few times and it's been fine. Hope you enjoy the show, when the time comes!

Are you joking ?! It was a very flat lifeless performance. I can only assume she’s has very limited rehearsal though so I’m sure she’ll be much better once the show is actually on.
