I read that they’re really going to evolve Frozen for London (and they’re introducing a new song for Elsa), and I hope they do, because honestly, it’s just not that good musical. I saw it in nyc and it just didn’t have the magic I was hoping for. And like others have said, Caissie and Patti just felt a bit too old for the roles, imo. I hope this production turns out to be more magical than people are saying. I'm such a sucker for anything Disney. Elsa and Anna are teenagers, so as long as Samantha Barks and her co-star can portray teenagers well enough, it will work. I don't think Barks is right for this role, I really don't. But I will happily be proved wrong. |

Since booking opens for this soon, I thought I would revive the thread with a question.
I saw this in New York with my mum the year before last, as Frozen is one of her favorite films we're keen to see it again when it comes over.
Depending on when the dates fall I might book for a show on her birthday but otherwise, which would be best to go to for the experience and a special occasion (having already seen the show):
1) the first preview
2) opening night
Back to more general thoughts on the show if I could make three changes before it comes over:
1) Make "In Summer" a big tap number
2) Get rid of "Hygge"
3) Ice Castle/Stairs

Previews from 30th October to 10th November.
Regular Performances Wednesdays to Sundays from 10th November with two shows on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

disappointed tbh when i listen to her singing Eponine i cannot imagine her belting this role 8 times a week would have loved someone with a more powerful voice i think i will watch it in Hamburg then She belts out a lot of the Pretty Woman songs- have you heard them? I agree and she does a good job as Vivian. To be honest, when I listen to the end section of "You're Beautiful" I can hear Elsa. |

She sings in about six songs with only 2 proper solo biggies and a couple of duets, all with easily dodge-able notes if she’s not feeling it. It’s hardly ‘Evita’. 😂

It seems so, although nearly every time I've tried to see her in something she's been out, but I think I must just be really unlucky! I did manage to catch her in Cabaret and City of Angels though, so I suppose 2 out of 5 ain't bad... |

I've seen her both times I could have seen her, in City of Angels and in Pretty Woman - the latter a midweek matinee fairly late in the run. Caissie didnt have an alternate Elsa, did she? So I wouldn't worry.

No doubt half the Stalls will be Premium seats at 8 million quid each - but do we think this will be the first show to take top price non premium over £100?

The broadway show has slightly underperformed and Disneys history in London, aside The Lion King, isnt as strong as Broadway. They have opted for a large theatre so have room for selling more seats but at more reasonable rates, and are obviously chasing the family market. Also dont forget even Aladdins first few previews were priced very cheaply (I saw it for £50 centre stalls row F). If it proves a hit I'm sure prices will rise, but I wonder if they might come in more in line with other west end shows to start with. |

West End prices are out of control currently so I do hope Frozen reign it in! Just had a look at the Hamilton plans and very pleased that the 100 quid top price non premium have not gone up since opening (as that was a new West End high). Also I may be wrong but I think the premium area in the Stalls has shrunk. Let's hope top price non premium gets you a decent Stalls location for Frozen! (And indeed Cinderella though that theatre is small and nowhere far from stage so less worried about that) |

I wonder whether that sort of pricing is really for Corporate sales. No ordinary person is going to countenance £225 for a night at the theatre are they?
And, taking it back to Frozen presumably the target market for this is families, which may bring the prices down? Maybe?

At those prices I’d be wanting Tina Turner herself to be singing the songs. Thank God for dynamic pricing. I managed to get AY1 just after Xmas for £70.

If you want to see the show and have the best seats, premium priced seats are what you have to have. centre stalls is centre stalls no matter what you call it. When "premium" seats first appeared it was usually just the middle of one or two stalls rows so, depending on your preference, you could still get the best seats at "top price non premium" - I mean what's the difference between row E instead of F, or row H instead of G. But then they expanded and now cover swathes of the stalls and circle. So you are totally right, they are simply top price tickets for centre stalls. And people, myself included, should probably stop saying "top price non premium" and just start saying 3rd/4th price or whatever it is. I think I might be too horrified to think of these prices in this technically more accurate way though! The whole "premium" thing has basically been a marketing con of hiking up prices. And of course paying 200 quid doesn't guarantee you not to have a head on front of you or not to have rowdy people behind you.... |
