So there are only 3 changes among the principals- it's more the ensemble which is changing. I'm guessing Steph Parry will be the new standby Dorothy/Maggie

I don’t like her but I don’t think that matters. And playing the Diva won’t be difficult by all accounts...
LOL! At least she has acting experience, as has done musicals. A mate of mine runs her fan club....

I don't know who Lulu is - so not sure people in their 40s and below may know who she is? (I'm 39). Maybe I'm just naiive? LOL I'm in my 20s and I know who she is - much more than I knew Sheena Easton when she was announced! I'm not a fan but at least we know she can (or could?) hold a tune, and it's not exactly an overly difficult role. Excited to see Ashley Day though! The important thing anyway is that Clare is staying - nothing else really matters that much for this show as far as I'm concerned. Exactly. Lulu is FAR more famous than Sheena Easton (who, to be fair, is a total has been)

An interesting and unexpected choice. Will actually book again to see her.
Also yes, most people of my generation (41) would have heard of her!

I'm guessing Steph Parry will be the new standby Dorothy/Maggie She is indeed. Glad Clare is staying and Ashley is exciting casting. Can't say I particularly care regarding Lulu's casting, it's not putting me off seeing the show but equally it's not exciting me either. Haven't seen the show since previews but I'll definitely be going back at some point soon, hopefully both before and after the current cast leave

Lulu getting cast was mentioned on the BBC Radio 2 news headlines! Not many casting announcements get that kind of free publicity!

Do you think they'll rename the toilets the loo-loos?

Theatremonkeys a psychic. (Don’t know what the euronillions numbers are do you?) I dunno how I feel about this one. It feels an odd choice. She can still sing, keys can be changed to suit her, and she's playing Dorothy Brock so it doesn't matter that her face hasn't moved since 1997.

As a non-Brit I have no opinion on Lulu but yay, Ashley Day! 😍 I wanted to see 42nd Street again anyway and now there's even more reason to.

Do you think they'll rename the toilets the loo-loos? I'd imagine they'd mark one "To Sir" and the other "With Love," probably. Well as long as no-one ends up having a Boom Bang-A-Bang in them we should be alright.

Exactly. Lulu is FAR more famous than Sheena Easton (who, to be fair, is a total has been) To the British Lulu is more famous to Sheena, but Sheena had far more of a worldwide fanbase.Sheena did win 2 grammys(that's 2 more than Lulu) has had 2 Lengthy Las Vegas residencies, is the First and only Artist with Top 5 Hits in all major categories: Pop, R&B, Country, Adult Contemporary, and Dance. Billboard Magazine 1985. So to say she is a has been is simply not true. She still performs concerts all over the world but admittedly does not have a skin care line on QVC. I have seen both Lulu and Sheena and so would just like to point out the facts!

She was an excellent Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, and I'm sure she will give the part the necessary wellie.

I'm afraid I can't stand the woman. I have a matinee ticket booked during her residency. Will be delighted if she doesn't do matinees.

Not really a Lulu fan, have always found her quite annoying, but I'm interested to see how she will play this part. Sad that Kristen Gaetz isn't staying - she was a brilliant Dorothy Brock, I enjoyed her more than Sheena though she did look a little young for the part!

The bitch in me laughed at that as she is older than me, but looks young enough to be my daughter.
