I walked past the theatre on the way to Kinky Boots yesterday and had a nosey at the cast board. Obviously barring sudden illness or midweek holiday, the cast this week has everyone from the main cast on except for Philip being on as Billy (which we knew, due to Stuarts injury), and Sam on for Mac/Doc/Thug. The Lovely Martin McCarthy was on for Graeme tonight as Andy Lee Not sure if Graeme is off sick or on Day Off / Holiday. I think Martin plays the role of Andy very well. Anyone else seen him in the role? They surely must announce Cast Change soon with just 7 weeks to go surely??? Yes I've seen him. I was very impressed and it doesn't harm that he is lovely to look at too. How lovely to have Stuart back.

Stuart is on the cast list for tonight. Oh yay, how exciting! So glad to hear hes back! Yes he was on, a great performance. Spoke afterwards to him, doing ok and breaking himself back in gently.

Just sorry my grandson didn't get to see him last weekend. Philip was great but couldn't beat Stuart's ebullient personality. Hope he doesn't overdo it and will be back to full strength very soon. Just LOVE his performance! WELCOME BACK STUART!!!!

A year ago today the cast had their first rehearsal according to Tom's instagram. Makes me sad considering only a few weeks left or the Original London Cast, especially considering they are possibly the strongest cast currently in London for a show. Wil be sad to see them go.

I totally agree with Daniel, the cast from leads to ensemble/Swing have all been fantastic and I am sure when you look back at some of the early posts on here , how pleased we can all say how wrong everyone was regarding the shows success! I was speaking to some of the cast today and heard some news of some leavers and stayers 6 leads and 2 ensemble. four in particular I am personally very sad to see go. Unfortunately they have asked for me to keep it quiet for now as they dont want it broadcast yet. I guess whilst contracts are being finalised etc, although I am dying to share it, I will respect their wishes! All will become public soon, in the meantime we must wait!!

6 February show definitely as fantastic as ever from Stalls A24 as usual, which is still £15 but soon to go to £25.
Saw CJ Johnson as Maggie for the first time. What a talented lady she is to cover both Dorothy Brock and Maggie so expertly and so differently. Also Ryan Gover (I think) covering for Andy – otherwise the rest were first cast.
It was my ninth viewing but I am still finding new wonders happening on stage. Being something of a balletomane, I was amazed last night to realise for the first time that in the final encore Clare at centre stage, just before she goes into the series of travelling fast pirouettes right around the whole stage, executes two ballet moves that with my limited technical vocabulary I call 'leg swings'. The Lilac Fairy in 'Sleeping Beauty' does several of these, as does Fonteyn in the film of the 'Corsair Pas de Deux' with Nureyev. I absolutely love this move and yet I failed to spot it on eight previous viewings! How many more times must I go to see this show before I have exhausted all the pleasures it has to offer? Perhaps I should just pay more attention, but as all the production numbers send me off into a kind of semi-coma of delight then I suppose it doesn't really matter and it will always be a joy.

Well it all happened at the Lane this evening! Major problem with the stairs in the final number. They never unfolded. Clare and Stuart looked at each other awkwardly before the curtain came down! Eventually got back up and running after about 5-10mins only for Claire to take a tumble - like the pro she is, did it with Grace and style! On other notes Ryan Gover is doing an excellent job as Andy (2nd Cover) and the lovely CJ on as Maggie. I love her Maggie, shame she is going at cast change.

I hope I wasn't responsible for the technical hitch with the staircase last night. On Tuesday night before the show started, I was waiting to settle onto A24 and started chatting to the programme seller and our conversation turned to the resident ghosts who inhabit Drury Lane. She said that the Man in Grey never comes down into the stalls but that Grimaldi might be seen around the theatre and Dan Leno apparently haunts the stage. Maybe it was one of those perturbed spirits, fed up with all the noisy tapping, who decided to sabotage the staircase! Who knows?!

I was there for this one too (Wednesday evening). Great performance as always and loved CJ as Maggie. Enjoyed seeing Ryan Gover as well. The cast seemed smaller than usual with several faces (swings) on I hadn't seen before. Interested in any more information about the stairs. I was in Stalls Row A (TodayTix) and they looked extended. A man near me who said he was a frequent attender said they'd come out too early. Also, did the trim the stair sequence when it restarted (it seemed shorter than I remember)? Will try and slot in another visit before cast change.

The casting managers seem to be lacking at the moment as still no news on the new cast for 42nd St as well as the old chess chestnut.
