They will definitely want to run this through Christmas 2018 as they will seriously clean up with all of the tourists in town. Daniel Johnson - any word on replacements yet for the cast members who are leaving? x I wouldn't come to me for that love, I work off assumptions and gossip haha. But I'd be surprised if there wasn't an announcement in the next couple of weeks! Maybe Baz will announce this week or next?

Unless there is a major casting for Julian or Dorothy, I doubt Baz will have any news. Just sit it and they’ll announce it when they’re ready is what I’m expecting.

So I've just been looking through some old programmes and found my one from Lord of The Rings at the Drury Lane and was shocked to see that both Stuart and also James Byng who is across the road playing The Actor in The Woman in Black, were both a part of the company when I saw it! Now I remember that we had the full cast with the exception of Frodo, who was an undersudy. So I saw them either way, but was even more surprised to find that both James and Stuart were the 1st and 2nd covers for that role! I can't find the understudy slip to see which one I saw!

I really hope that when it closes, it goes on UK Tour.

As far as I know Stuart never went on for Frodo. James was on a lot though and took over once the lead left. Stuart took over as Pippin for the last month of the run (and went on as cover fairly regularly before that).

Finally listening to the new London cast recording and while it is wonderful I am pretty gutted they've not included the dialogue bits in Out of Town and Go Into Your Dance. They are on the 2001 Broadway Cast recording (which I have been addicted to until the London one came out) and the songs seem lost without it.

I hope it is not scaled down too much on tour.

I think that considering they are really playing their London run by ear at the minute, taking it month by month, I imagine they won't get an idea of a tour until thry decide to close up shop at the Drury Lane, which in reality could happen end of the year/beginning of 2019 or further into 2019 if it continues to get audiences in!

It was disappointing that they had to cut some of the dialogue and tap but apparently I was told it was all down to timing and how much they could actually squeeze on to the CD. Not sure how that worked given they managed 1 hr 13 mins on to a CD for the 2001 recording yet only managed 1hr 1 min on this one. I did not like the singing on the revival recording very much. This one is still great to listen to though.

very true, but equally - touring venues work much further ahead with their diaries, I doubt many of the venues that could take the full version of this show have a great deal of availability for 2019. Still, I would love it to happen! That's true, Edinburgh Playhouse announced Kinky Boots as their Christmas show for 2018 in October 2017 I think...

That doesn't sound right to me, unless it's an enhanced CD that also has computer-readable data tracks on it. A standard CD has a capacity of 74 minutes of uncompressed audio.

I knew that the show was a bit meh from seeing a couple of amateur productions in the past but they’ve thrown everything they can at it to make it more haven’t they? Impressive sets and a fifty strong cast really amp up the excitement. Without Ms Halse I don’t think they have much more than a decent touring show here, but she is dynamite isn’t she? Most of all I can’t believe that she has to do it all again in an hour and a half!!!! Wow for her, “yeahitwasalright” for everything else...

I've asked this before but not sure if anyone knew then so I might as well ask again - do we know if Clare Halse is leaving at cast change? Need to fit in some more visits before then if she is!

Nobody knows but I cannot imagine this production without her. Who could follow that?!

Yeah of all the leads she is the one I'd be surprised if she left. Its a gem of a role and she owns it! My bet is still on her and Philip leading in three months time.

Makes sense as she is the star. God knows how she does it. 8 shows a week and no need for "alternative" Peggy. Yes I'm looking at you Dreamgirls/Hamilton.......

Excellent news! I may celebrate with a trip to the show tomorrow night if she's on! I walked past the theatre on the way to Kinky Boots yesterday and had a nosey at the cast board. Obviously barring sudden illness or midweek holiday, the cast this week has everyone from the main cast on except for Philip being on as Billy (which we knew, due to Stuarts injury), and Sam on for Mac/Doc/Thug.

The Lovely Martin McCarthy was on for Graeme tonight as Andy Lee Not sure if Graeme is off sick or on Day Off / Holiday. I think Martin plays the role of Andy very well. Anyone else seen him in the role? They surely must announce Cast Change soon with just 7 weeks to go surely???
