I wonder if its just because they haven't actually announced the booking extension yet have they? So maybe they want to wait until they offically annouce it, likely with a cast announcement which we will likely expect in the next couple of weeks.
Sidenote, I looked at the seating plan around 7pm last night for the 7:30 show as I was curious to see how it is doing. Lovely to see that the show was pretty much sold out bar a few single seats here and there. Considering its slow time in the West End, its really lovely to see.

Checked the Matinee and all 4 sections look very well sold. For a Wednesday afternoon mid-January, I'm dubious.

You’re probably right, just odd that they did go on sale for a brief period. Maybe they’re looking to announce a longer extension than 1 December?

You’re probably right, just odd that they did go on sale for a brief period. Maybe they’re looking to announce a longer extension than 1 December? I know what you mean. Kinky Boots went through the same thing once haha, they put tickets uo like 6 months more than announced but then took them down soon after, probably just a mistake. I'm somewhat amazed how well this is doing considering it is January and some shows are struggling as they always do this time of year. But for alot of the January shows, it seems all four levels are pretty well sold and even on the quieter days, are at least half full on each level. It seems word of mouth and promotion for this, as well as alot of return buisness, seems to have helped this show alot. In terms of extension, its gonna be interesting to see what happens post cast change. If the new cast isn't a patch on the Originals, it could affect word of mouth. That said, it is sure to win a couple of Oliviers which may provide a minor boost. If it continues the way it is this month, don't be surprised this one is still around in 2019.

When looking at how well sold a date is, I can see that agencies, e.g. Seatplan, show a different selection of seats from the main 42nd street web site. For next Wednesday afternoon Seatplan have quite a few seats in the grand circle and balcony and 100 or so in the stalls.
Does anyone know if these are the ones that get sold cheaply on the day as day seats or Todaytix?

Does anyone know how Stuart Neal is doing? Hope he's O.K. I was really hoping he'd be back for next Saturday when I'm seeing the show for the fifth time but it looks like his injury was quite severe!

Hi All. I am new to the forum but have been reading your posts for ages. Finally got around to joining. I respect everyone's opinions on hear even if I do not agree with some of them. That what makes interesting reading. I am 42nd Street mad. Can not get enough of it and simply love the show and the talent within it. I am up to show 42 myself, made some good friends and have a good insight. When I spoke to someone last week about Stuart, I was told he is still on crutches and is likely to be off for at least another 5-6 weeks. Hope it is sooner, but both Dylan and Philip make excellent Billy's. Sheena is also back.

Very unlikely it will finish on 20 Oct. (That said, I have a tkt booked that day just in case!) Why take a show off on the run up to Christmas etc, especially if nothing else is going in due to the refurb? Seems pointless. My guess it will run until early 2019. I think they will probably announce a further extension when they announce the cast change. ( Which I hope they will do fairly soon)!

Welcome Stageyqueen. I almost pulled the trigger on a front row seat for 20th October a few weeks ago but glad I held back - I hope I can manage to the final final night of this. Like most on here I LOVE it! We need a last night "do".

I was here on opening night, will be here on last show of current cast and first show of new cast and so goes with out saying I will move hell and high water to be there at the end! Looking forward to tonight's show!

Thanks very much for your reply Stageyqueen.I'm sorry to hear Stuart is still quite a long way from full recovery but hope to see him back before cast change. I'm taking my grandson to the show on Saturday and think he would have particularly enjoyed Stuart's slightly 'over the top' and super energetic performance!

Yes he does "go over the top" which actually was what landed him in this predicament. Both Philip and Dylan do an excellent job as covers. I actually personally prefer Philip as my choice of Billy and I would love to see him get it at Cast Change. I am seeing the show tonight so will report back who was on. Either way, you and your grandson will love the show I am sure - who ever is on!

Had a great show tonight. All the mains on with the exception of Stuart Neal. Phillip was on as Billy and as always was excellent. Three levels open and all reasonably full. Good for a Monday. The show keeps getting better and better for me. Sheena has made a great recovery and appeared back on form as did Tom. Jae conducted and was as passionate as ever. This really is a great show- Notbsure about Blue Monday - I came out on such a high!

Trying this for the first time today. The coach trips are in, eldest everywhere and a panicked Miele aged woman is accosting every member of the front of house team looking for her elderly mother. “She has a stick if that helps”. Needle, haystack springs to mind.

a panicked Miele aged woman Sometimes, even I hesitate to ask what goes through an "auto-correct" programmer's head at times. As old as a fridge?

Stageyqueen can you tell me the date of the last show current cast? Current cast leave March 17th, new cast start March 19th. Oh no! I'm in London that weekend but booked Jamie and Phantom! If only I'd checked. Damn.

For anyone interested, Norman Bowman‘s last scheduled Julian Marsh dates are now February 8th to 14th as Tom Lister has changed his holidays (originally February 12th to 17th).

Ooh thanks for the info, I might try and see one. I saw 42nd Street again last Wednesday and saw Tom as Julian, and although I really enjoyed his performance, I think I preferred Norman, perhaps because he was the first person I saw in the role.

Argh, correction! Norman just told me Tom has messed up his dates and he is off February 15th to 21st. So those are Norman’s last Julian Marsh dates. Sorry for the confusion.

With Stuart off, how does the Billy rota work as Philip and Dylan seem to be going on? Is there a schedule between them/set performances? Probably going to go tomorrow and was wondering if there is any way of 'working out' who is going to be on.

zak97 I'm pretty sure it's just Philip is on unless he's ill or on holiday and then it'll be Dylan.
