"only a musical..." Words fail me. Luckily I can quote that sage Julian March, "Musical Comedy, the greatest words in the English language..." Sorry, Mr Snow. Of course I agree totally with Julian Marsh about the greatest words in the English language being "Musical Comedy" and my throw-away quip about 42nd Street being "only a musical" was said with loving irony. I wouldn't have gone to see it seven times already if I didn't love every single bit of it including the ending!

Back to see those dancing feet tonight for the 3rd time, having nabbed a Rush ticket, centre second row of the stalls!

I'm pretty sure it would have been through the todaytix app from 10am (well at 10am for a 2nd row seat) for £25 (with possible £10 discount if you haven't ever used it before, see the todaytix thread for a code, fairer than just advertising my own).

Good god, it just keeps getting better each time! I'm calling it now, I think from the moment Peggy is under that spotlight to the stairs, possibly my all-time favourite musical theatre sequence. Just magical, theatre at its finest. Also fresh appreciation for Stuart Neal, who really works his ass off on that stage every night! A brilliant performance! I wouldn't be surprised if he was a spoiler nominee at the Oliviers. And anyone unconvinced by Sheena back when it first opened, go back! She has improved vastly, and sings the score beautifully! And my favourite Ensemble member Sam Murphy was on so happiness all around.

Well. Sheena OWNS this show. She's snappier, funnier, more comfortable now than when I saw her before back at the beginning of the run. And that voice of hers is perfect for her numbers. It's really very sexy like. An Oliver nomination please.
And one for Stuart Neal too. He's completely marvellous.

When is the ensemble cast change happening? And is Sheena going at the same time?

I really think Stuart has the hardest role in the entire show. He does everything the leads do, as well as the ensemble from start to finish. Its quite remarkable. I agree with Ryan, wouldn't be mad if he nabbed a nomination, it would be totally deserved!

Oh, and Christopher Howell is still the weak link in this show. Literally the only un-entertaining part of the show. Thankfully he is constantly onstage with Jasna or the girl with the boobs, so there something good onstage with him!

Brilliant dancing and singing (probably the toughest role vocally in the show, and I could clearly hear Stuart, even in the big ensemble numbers).

Oh thats interesting, the show is pushing both Clare and Sheena as leads for the Whatsonstage.com Awards. So they may be pushing the Oliviers in that direction too?

I'm sure it's partly due to forum members telling anyone who will listen how good it is. I certainly do.

I do wish the 'news' section of the website was updated. Something newsworthy must surely have happened since 5 April 2017!

So deserved! I hope it sticks around as long as possible before the refub, I suspect it will!

I'm really pleased it's extending, but feel slightly sorry for those who thought they had booked for the very last night.

Looks like the recording of the cast album has started! Philip Bertioli posted this as a story on his instagram:

Where are people getting this information from? On the website you can still only book until October 2018

You can book up to the 1st of December 2018 on London Theatre Direct. All I could find when I did a quick search was a tweet of theirs that mentions booking till December 2018.

I imagine that October date will be the final performance. A shame if it does close then, but least it gives a year to see it as many times as we want! It's members like tonyloco I feel sorry for. Fortunately, no visit to 42nd Street is ever wasted!
