It wouldn't be for me but then I like to be close to the action. You would get a full clear view and at a cheap price value for money. Today Tix seem to have rush tickets virtually all the time and I have been offered some excellent stalls seats for £25.

Got 15 pound tickets for this for early September row A23-24 but unfortunately didn't look at the Monkey's page beforehand. Now I see that A24 is described as limited legroom and that A23 isn't much better. Are they really that bad? Any personal experience would be gratefullly noted.

I have sat in A24 before, albeit not while watching 42nd Street, and I found it adequate leg room for myself and I am 5ft5.

I posted a photo upthread (link below) of the equivalent seats on the other side A0-1 which should give you some idea. I'd happily sit in A1 (A23) and have booked it for two shows later in the run, but would hesitate re A0. theatreboard.co.uk/post/112550

Me and my 6'4" frame are having palpatations just looking at this seat. I once sat in the side stalls at the Palladium where the curve of the seats is so tight I had to go & bother the box office for a swap...

Thanks so much for the feedback - I feel I can relax between now and September now. Seriously though a great help.

I saw the matinée of this on the 20th. What to say. I don't think there's sufficient words in the English language to adequately describe how much joy I felt while watching this!! Phenomenal, just utterly phenomenal from start to finish. I was grinning like some deranged Cheshire Cat most of the way through the show. Yes there's not much story going on but what is there is more than serviceable, and honestly when every other aspect of this show is that gobsmackingly good, I don't care one jot. One of the best things I've seen in my 4 years of theatre-going. Thank you all for being so positive about 42nd Street here as I wasn't remotely interested in seeing this before I read this thread. Believe the hype here, JUST GO!!!
I'm back down in London in October to see Dreamgirls, so will definitely be seeing 42nd Street again while I'm there. I'm just hoping it'll still be open then, judging by what some people have been saying here, it may not be. Surely a show this good wont close anytime soon?! Surely?!?

Saw the show for the second time today, first time with Sheena Easton. I'm just going to go out there and say it - does she realise this isn't pantomime? Show still as fantastic and spectacular as ever, just didn't adore Sheena!

I'm surprised how many people didn't like Sheena, I thought she was fabulous!

Has such a grandeur to it, love love love!! On a side note, tonight seems to be packed. All levels are open

Me too. I saw it with the understudy and she wasn't a patch on Sheena. I'd love them to record this cast, I suspect they won't though. I'm surprised how many people didn't like Sheena, I thought she was fabulous!

Other than Christopher Howell I loved the cast. But there is something about him I just find consistently annoying and unfunny. It was evident especially in this. But he does ok I guess.

Saw the matinee yesterday and when I read the post about Sheena Easton, I thought "Ah! Is that who it was?" Since I didn't know any cast names in advance and am always quite happy about that as it enables me to focus on the show. Never having seen it before I found it quite enjoyable if slightly too long for its very simple and obvious plot. Perfectly pleasant but not of the order of other musicals which, whilst equally corny, have somehow engaged me more emotionally, e.g. The Bodyguard and Miss Saigon. But clearly a very popular outing for a wide range of theatre-goers, frequent and occasional, and good to see a show doing so well.

Actually if you try buy water from a street vendor as a foreigner they will try charge you £1! Still not a lot but compared to 10p... Luckily I can haggle in Chinese hehe

I think that any forum member who has sat in the front row to see this show, which is basically all of us, will confirm it's not click tracked. That's the whole point. We were front row balcony and as it was my second time I noticed the tap sound was exactly the same level. How would they microphone the feet? Hm... Surely the sound wouldn't carry?
