I think it is 7th July. For some fans of the show that day cannot come too soon! Thanks Is her performance that disappointing? I mean, surely she can sing?

Well I have not seen Lulu in it, but from what most of those who have posted on here and have seen it her performance is at best disappointing. I think the main issue is that her voice is not suited to the material. She does not have a voice suited to those songs. Those who saw Sheena Easton in the show I guess compare her vocal to Lulu's and Lulu appears to be lacking.

In my opinion, being a huge fan of the show, she isn't as strong as Sheena vocally, but she can still sing and she brings alot of humour to the role. She is giving a perfectly respectable performance in my opinion but obviously many apparently seem to disagree.

Yes, as others have said, some of the songs aren't necessarily suited to her voice but she's not awful by any means. She acts the part better than Sheena in my opinion, she's a bit spikier. I did think she did 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' rather well though and she ROCKS 'About a Quarter to Nine'.
And when I saw her, I thought she was really supportive of Clare Halse and Ashley Day too. She seemed to really like them and applauded them and grabbed their hands for the final bow which I thought was nice of her. She probably tried to cop a feel of Ashley Day too, the old saucepot. But then who wouldn't? He's a peach.

Yes, I did like her version of Boulevard of Broken Dreams in particular - I also preferred her acting to Sheena. I went in expecting a car crash of a performance, but left thinking she was fine.

Nothing to do with the share price going up 20% then and CEO's normally having shares as part of their pay deal??

Could have been worse if he’d just seen Hamilton and started singing “bastard son of a whore” at the interviewer

Help me remember the maths, I think these are the sums mentioned as applying in 1934. Happy to be corrected or others added. According to the extensive research I’ve done (one search) need to multiply by 68.1 to account for inflation.
And so we get
Top price tickets $4.40, Now $299
Wages $22 a week. $1500
Bowl of chilli 10C $6.81 This is also what’s pulled from the drain leading us nicely into We’re in the Money!
Anything else mentioned?
Well the mind does drift off a little on what is my 4th visit to this production. But my Mum LOVED it!
Who was covering Clare last Friday? She moved well and it was nice to see someone else in the role.

Played hooky from work this afternoon and went to see this again. Got a really great seat for practically nothing then felt guilty for not paying more. Went in feeling fed up and stressed and came out on top of the world. Ready to take on anything. Absolutely brilliant cast (including Lulu) and everyone tapped their butts off. Going to go again and again and again....

Hannah Faith Marram was covering Clare West End Covers didn't have this, nor did the official twitter - was this a last minute thing, do you think? Is she back on tonight?

Actually, I just noticed that the post about Clare's cover was referring to the other day (I think - or was she out today as well?) - and the twitter account did have the information.

Not sure if it is the case here but shows really seem to be stopping performers tweeting when they are on these days and it's becoming more and more common. Very sad.

Yes...I have seen some wonderful performances from understudies over the years. It's a shamefully poor policy that is enforced on performers.

Yes it seems that the principle way that End Covers get their info these days is by people sending photos of cast boards.

Hamilton's own twitter (for example) seems to be happy to announce understudies, so why can't the performers themselves tweet about it? Are the performers in violation of contract, or something, if they announce they're performing a particular role that night?

Even theatres provide scant information on performers now. Unless you happen to see the one or 2 castlists then unless you know what a performer looks like you have no clue as to who is on that night. Have to say their photo in the programme often doesn't help either as it has often been taken some years ago! Gone are the days when announcements were made before the show starts about a cast change or the little slips of paper were inserted in a programme.

Saturday's 42nd street tweet was as a result of me tweeting the details from the cast list when I went to the mattane - through Hannah Faith Marram had announced she was on all last week on twitter west end covers were only doing it day by day.

Just booked a rush seat to see the show in Lulu's absence (although I'm one of the people who likes Lulu's performance).

I'm going tomorrow - I wonder if Lulu will be on then?!
BTW, the official blurb says: "Please note, Lulu will not be performing on Thu 29 -Sat 31 March, Wed 16 May, or Fri 22, Sat 23 & Sat 30 June". - so it's either an additional holiday, or unforeseen circumstances. Anyone got a clue whether it's illness/injury?

Lulu off today - was that planned or last minute? Perhaps she just wants her independence?
