I don’t quite get what they’re going to do. They’re advertising Russell Kane and Jon Culshaw as “the hosts”. Not sure how you “host” a West End show which runs night in and out, let alone with Culshaw probably squeezing impersonations in too. Peter Andre - not a man who is known for any Michael Jackson covers or relationship. Is he just going to turn up at curtain call and perform Man in the Mirror or something? Is this meant to attract people to buy tickets? Next week all proceeds are going to charity. So for that week only one “name” is doing a performance each I believe and then it’s back to normal. |

I’m just waiting to see what Steve Allen makes of this on LBC tomorrow morning 🙂- he’s always so scathing about Peter Andre!

Talked him up when it suited him (all that nonsense about liking him until Thriller), then changed his tune when he died. Only real connection is that he was a support act for Janet Jackson in the mid 90s. |

I wonder whether the upcoming documentary Finding Neverland will be the final nail in the coffin for Thrilller and could kill offf the upcoming Broadway show?

"Thriller Live - the musical which centres around Michael Jackson's music - has refused to comment on whether the documentary is impacting its shows. It's been running on the West End for 10 years and the website is continuing to take bookings for the show until the end of September"

Given that the episodes aired in the UK this week, It's probably a bit soon to be estimating the impact of the documentary on ticket sales for this show isn't it.

The public has short term memory issues.
Give it 3 months and most people will have dismissed this story from their memory and just remember the lovely songs and dances.

The producer and creator of Thriller Live Adrian Grant defended him which isn’t surprising.
Nimax i imagine are taking a wait and see approach.

Idk if sales will be affected. Stories about this guy being a paedophile have always been there and never seemed to be affecting the show.
Superfans and tourists are the main audience of Thriller. Superfans will still see this (and will still believe he's innocent, cause you know, they are superfans!). Tourists too, as this have only aired (I think) in the US and in the UK. Of course some of us who live in a different country have seen it, or have read about it, but not everyone's had access to the documentary or knows about it. In fact I was talking to some friends and they had no idea this was out there.

I would say even large demographics of UK and US wont' have seen the documentary. Honestly, if it hadn't been for here I wouldn't have known beforehand (obviously after it was over social media and press). But it's entirely possible to be outside the 'bubble' and miss it totally.
I think for Thriller it will depend on how far any wider 'boycott' of Jackson goes- if it becomes the 'done thing' then I think eventually they'll have to concede defeat. But otherwise, I'd expect them to conduct 'business as usual'

I imagine it’s up to the theatre owner, in this case Nimax, whether they want to keep the show or not.

A lot will depend on what else comes out. If it turns into another Savile (where we're getting further revelations and people coming forward day after day), then their hand may be forced.
