The show that never gives up has extended (yet again) through April 23, 2017! Whilst I liked the show when I saw it (I am a big MJ fan so I had fun) it should stick to the touring market ala a concert tour. It is a waste of a theatre and should not of run as long as it has... if I am correct in saying so, if it does make it to this extension it has run for over 8 years at that theatre!

This seems to have been discounted on TKTS since forever - how is it staying afloat!?!?

This show sits along 'Let it Be' and 'Motown' in my no thank-you very much...I would go on a freebie but not part a single cent for a musical tribute show that these are, they just have zero appeal!!

I liked Beautiful and Sunny Afternoon. Dreamboats and Miniskirts was a guilty pleasure. I could probably even be tempted by Thriller Live on a freebie. However, if Motown or Let It Be were being performed in my garden, I'd pop in a pair of ear plugs and draw the curtains.

This is actually one of the best-selling shows in town. That's why it's still running. It's not going anywhere.

I watched this years ago when a friend was in the cast. I don't think I will ever fully forgive him for those two hours of my life I will never get back. And the audience was the worst I've ever seen in a theatre: People chatting all the way through, lots of people leaving the auditorium mid show to go the toilet or the bar, singing along, whole groups of women jumping up trying (and failing) to do the Thriller dance.
Even if someone offered me a freebie I wouldn't sit through this show again.

This is on my list of "have absolutely zero interest in seeing even if it was free"

Blame Dr Conrad Murray if he didn't unlawfully kill Michael Jackson in June 2009 the show would of been done a while back.
About a couple of years back Baz from the Daily Mail said this is going to close, for once he got something wrong, the show going in to replace it was just a summer holiday afternoon children's filer.
But unfortunately this show will go on and on, brings in a reasonable box office, cheap to run and the only show other than Stomp to have no dialogue, so very popular with tour group leaders.

When I went, a group of Spanish school girls literally ran down the aisle to the front of the stage like they were at a real MJ concert. The even worse part, the ushers did nothing about it!

Hate this show. It's not exactly doing brilliantly on tour eithier. I think it's very easy to be sniffy about this sort of thing. But if it gets people away from their telly and into a theatre then that's a good thing, right? They might decide they like seeing things live and that's GOT to be a good thing.

Performed their 3000th performance today. Who woulda thought this show would run this long! Saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if this show closed within the next year or two.

Tsk, tsk, tsk -
Police were called out after a fight broke out at a showing of the Michael Jackson musical Thriller Live in Aberdeen.
The incident happened at His Majesty's Theatre (HMT) on Friday evening.
The individuals involved were asked to leave by theatre security staff.
Aberdeen Performing Arts, which operates HMT, said such incidents were rare, and added: "We would like to extend our sincere apologies to anyone who was upset by these events."

It still hurts me inside that this is on the Musicals sub-forum. When are we opening the Glorified Tribute Show or Tourist Tat sections? Can pop Stomp in there too

It annoys me this is still open when there are plenty of shows struggling to get a theatre to move into town.

Every time I see Thriller Live at the top of the forum my heart jumps, hoping beyond hope that this pile of tat has been given its' notice. And please don't say that it's employing people...a terrific theatre in a terrific location will attract a terrific production which will employ people (whom I sure will be terrific!)
