Have they changed the setting to ‘everyones final year at uni’? Or an M.A. or post grad course? Maybe they’re all mature students on a social work course? Only really Sam Tutty and ATS pulling of the sixth form look for me 🤣
But what a great cast of actual talent. I have had the cast recording on a lot again recently, in giddy anticipation. November can’t come soon enough for me.

Reading the casting announcements has made me realise how old I am as I've never heard of any of them. Not an issue as I booked the day tickets went on sale and looking forward to it.

Yes same here. Not heard of a single person in the cast. They said it was the show who was the star. I hope this works out in reality. It's nice not to have any stunt casting for a change though and no 'celebrity' casting either. A pity though that I've not heard of anyone. Still looking forward to seeing it in November though.

So presumably Jamie needs a new Margret, probably from Monday!? Or was Rebecca already announced as leaving?

The show really is the star. I saw it for the fourth time in Toronto a few months back, with the alternate Evan and nobody else in the cast who I knew. It was really great. You can bet they have had the pick of the crop when casting this.

When a show is selling this well (arguably better than Hamilton), it doesn’t need celebrity casting. Rebecca McKinnis is pretty well known though.

You’ve never even heard of Lauren Ward? Tut.

I thought I recognised her name when I saw the announcement - turns out she's the original Miss Honey from Matilda.

Not massively excited about this (based on CD) but got a ticket based on the hype (I do love a panic buying frenzy) and have to say I am thrilled they have gone with MT trained actors based on merit exclusively.
And well done to the Board for the predictions :-)
And I am certainly much MORE excited than I was about Waitress and Come From Away out of the current American invasion.

I've always wondered with the Larry u/s- I get they need two due to illness, holidays etc but it's not a particularly demanding part, and at least in existing productions the actor doesn't tend to call out much, if at all. So do they have two understudies sat backstage for one part, potentially not going on for any of the 8 shows a week?

Could be due to the fact they don't have an ensemble to pull an understudy from if needs be? That would be my guess. 🤷🏻♀️

I believe in New York the second covers are often holiday covers. Difficult with this show vs Come From Away/Six is they need much clearer age groups for the roles. I believe each standby in Come From Away covers five different roles. Four of the cast will cover Jared/Connor, so that’s FIVE cast members who you potentially see play them. Additionally, with an alternate Evan, if main Evan is on hols and alternate Evan is sick then they easily need the two additional covers. I’m guessing Annual leave is a lot more generous in the UK, and in all fairness the cost of employing an additional cover makes up for any potential cancellations.

I would think that Sam will definitely be doing Friday nights and Saturday nights which leaves 4 more performances each week he will do. I would say he probably wouldn;t do the weekday matinee which leaves one other show.

Will it be posted on the website which 2 performances the Evan alternate will be on?

What performances does the Evan alternate do on Broadway? Wednesday and Saturday matinees, do you think it’ll be the same here?

I think it'll be Mondays and Wednesday matinees, but maybe they'd give him the Saturday matinee off so he's never doing a two show day.

It seems they have started rehearsals.. in New York... for this already.. The 'evan's' have been there for a week already I think. Some of the cast flying tomorrow, and most likely starting to rehearse on Monday. Seems a costly way to do it, but they obviously want this show to be in prime shape for the opening.

Unless otherwise noted, all cast members are scheduled to perform in each performance. On Wednesday & Saturday matinees, the role of Evan Hansen will be performed by the alternate.
It says that on the DEH website and then specifically goes onto to say that MLB will do Wednesday and Saturday matinees on Broadway. So maybe it applies across the board?

A couple of you tube videos have been put on the DEH Facebook page of Sam Tully singing. Lovely voice and great diction. You always know if someone has MT training by their diction. I do like to be able to hear the words. 😁

It's "Tutty" incidentally!
