Really? I just followed that link and couldn't find a ticket over £27.40 (+£4). So £25 plus ATG. Actually I just realised that I first looked at the price range on the interactive seating plan that goes up to £40.40, which is just the £25.40 premium seat when selected for a "Blue Package" which includes a choice of variety box, welcome drink and ATG Theatre Gift. So really £25 (plus ATG fee) is pretty much the most expensive seat. My mistake. I do wonder what on earth these "ATG Theatre Gifts" are, show programme? |

Didnt sound like it would be an amateur production. Amateur tend to go into the smaller blackpool theatre. Winter gardens is huge

If its an amateur production then it's certainly an expensive one! £44 top price. Bluddy cheek! As an amateur myself, they'll be lucky if people fork out on that! |

I saw the original pre-West End production in Manchester and found it pretty forgettable except for the sets which were impressive and that one trick where he "disappears" on stage. I'd probably give it another try if it comes back to Manchester but not if its a cut back version. As for Blackpool, nothing could convince me to set foot in that town ever again. Ever. Yes, forgettable was the word I'd use to. And very disappointing. I think I got the wrong impression before I went to see it. I was expecting something more edgy musically and lyrically from the writers considering their background, but it was all very standard and quite bland. I thought Fleeshman was hopelessly young for the role and lacked gravitas. Also the idea of setting it in present day was silly. I love Blackpool! |

My big regret was only seeing 'Ghost' once!! I may have one or two sherries on a stagey Sunday and may have acted out along playing all the parts to the cast recording home alone - Suspend My Disbelief/I Had a Life & Rain/Hold On ;-)

That microsite link still isn't coming up, but I just noticed on the licensing website for amateurs www.theatricalrights.com/node/55 the list of upcoming shows at the top says "UK National Tour - Dates Pending" with a link to Colin Ingram's site (producer of the last tour) and further down "February 3 - 14, 2016, Bill Kenwright LTD, London, W2 1RR, UK" but no production was obviously on during that time, unless it means that is when Kenwright acquired the rights? Would make sense as there are no more amateur productions on in the UK after May. |

I saw an amateur production in York just over a week ago and thought it was very well done - the cast and the effects were great. Overall I found it a bit dreary though, but the music is nice and the ending is touching.

So, information is starting to come out. A quick inspection of ATG and what we already knew pieces together the following: Wimbledon: 1st - 10th September Bristol Hippodrome: 12th - 17th September Birmingham (New Alexandra): 19th - 24th September Sunderland Empire: 26th Sept - 1st October Blackpool Winter Gardens: 3rd - 8th October Cardiff New Theatre: 17th - 22nd October Manchester (Palace): 25th - 29th October Kenwright's website has no news yet. A 'reimagined' Kenwright tour now confirmed, with added music and expanded book. Opens at New Wimbledon 29th August! Interestingly, it's being launched in the US at The Fulton Theatre before starting the UK tour. It will visit Wimbledon, Bristol, Birmingham, Sunderland, Blackpool, Cardiff, Manchester, Oxford, Leeds, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Torquay, Woking, Liverpool and Aylesbury.
