Rebecca Trehearn. I'm just gonna leave this here ... Was she the understudy? There's at least another one of those they could have cast if the London leads were not free. Its also been to Singapore with Lucie Jones, who also must have had an understudy. She sounds good too. Lord it may not sound as good as with the London leads, but you can make it sound very good.

French and Saunders would've made it more tuneful.

Rebecca understudied in London and was lead on the original UK tour.

Yes I saw Rebecca in London. I don't seem to have much luck seeing Siobhan in anything unless I don't know she's in it (Sunset Boulevard).

I don't believe for a second that either of them auditioned.
I imagine it went something like this - We need someone to sell tickets so people will be busy going 'oh that's her/him off the telly' and won't notice how cheap everything is. Let's make some calls...
Well everyone from the last 3 years of x-factor and the voice won't do it for the money we're paying. Kimberly Walsh's people laughed at us, as did Carley Stenson's. We tried all the sugababes and even some spice girls. Nicola Roberts said no, but Sarah Harding will do it, I know she got fired from corrie, but this is only theatre... Mcfly and Busted all refused so we've got this guy off hollyoaks.

I'm sorry, but I have to pull you up on your McFly & Busted dig if we're talking about people not being able to do the job they are paid for. They are all talented musicians (and sometimes childrens authors), and Matt Willis acquitted himself well as Fiyero. If you'd said Blue I could have concurred quite easily 😁 (Good call on Stenson though...is she busy? Can she get to Wimbledon for Weds?)

I was just following the trend of how casting has been done before, as these have all been used. More saying that they had to go right down to the bottom of the barrel because they were too cheap to pay for a 'good' name. (depends on individual definition of good!)

This is the strangest and funniest review I have ever read in my life. Seriously. Have they ever been to the theatre before? "Overall this is a production that can be enjoyed by all, even if you do not believe in the afterlife" I don't believe in flying carpets but still enjoyed Aladdin! I actually doubt this reviewer even saw Ghost in Wimbledon!!

I'm on a Yahoo musical trading group and someone posted an audio from 1st September, and I have to quote the full post because of the hilarity of it:
Gift Ghost 'reimagined' UK Tour
Untracked because I couldn't sit through this again. For those that want to know what has changed, or are considering booking. Or just for those that want a laugh - this is a professional tour.
Ghost the Musical 1st September 2016
Cast: Andy Moss (Sam), Sarah Harding (Molly), Sam Ferriday (Carl), Jacqui Dubois (Oda Mae Brown) Leo Sene (Willie)
Mod Edit: Link removed /Mod Edit
The random cheering isn't because anything cool happened, half the theatre was comped for the ensemble's friends and family. Both Andy and Sarah's acting is actually worse than their singing, and ALL the illusions are gone. Oh and the pottery!
Feel free to share this, post it on youtube, whatever, just please do not credit me. The more people that hear this before wasting their time and money the better.

Would the Asian Tour like this production in exchange for theirs?

For those that downloaded this before admin quote rightly deleted the link, the laughter that you hear in Act 2 just after 46:45 is where Carl was trying to break into the apartment and the chain that Oda Mae Brown had put on the door fell off and Carl appeared in the room and had to make a quick exit.

Oh Christ. I knew Mischief Theatre were taking a couple of weeks off to do Peter Pan again, do we think they lent a hand in the rehearsal room here?

I'm glad the ticket sales are dire, though I doubt Bill Kenwright will learn any lessons from this...

I'm glad the ticket sales are dire, though I doubt Bill Kenwright will learn any lessons from this... People are only commenting on ticket sales in Wimbledon. I looked last night at a couple of the Cardiff performances and the sales seemed good, so far in advance. This reminds me of when Cardiff International Arena first opened and people complained that, with a flat floor, they couldn't see any of the performers. The Arena management dismissively responded that the Arena was a Revolutionary New Concept in Popular Entertainment, quite different from the familiar theatre and concert hall. It was designed to pack in many thousands of punters at a time and to charge them vast sums of money. Being able to see the performers was never intended. I feel that this Ghost the Musical show is similar to the CIA. It's a new concept in popular entertainment - not a showcase of fine musical theatre singing, stage design and theatrical illusions. For that, go to the annual ENO musical for the music and to the West End megamusicals for the design and illusions.

I think she isn't doing musical theatre over Christmas whilst Danny Mac is in Strictly though - maybe a replacement for Sarah after Xmas if the tour is still going though?

On the plus side, the 2nd cover Molly (Lauren Drew) sounds fantastic!

On the plus side, the 2nd cover Molly (Lauren Drew) sounds fantastic! On the downside, she's featured ensemble, the police officer being one of her parts, and she was really bad. I think the first cover was the bank teller though, and she was actually good.

Good luck to her walking out on stage again after this reaction. This must be the most extremely negative and publicised reaction to a theatrical performance

Going out on a limb here, it's not amazing I'll give it that but from hearing the recordings I don't think its as atrocious as everyone is saying. Is it note perfect no, but does she still have a good voice? Yes, as good as an MT trained person no! I'm seeing it myself next week so will judge it for myself then. Also this is a recording off a phone that's concealed so it can't be seen. Again I don't think it's the best thing I've ever heard but I've heard worse on the West End, ahem Belinda Carlisle, ahem Daniel Beddingfield, ahem Marti Pellow.

There's a guy in the Musical Theatre Appreciation Facebook group who keeps insisting (amongst other things) that the bad press is all a publicity stunt, and that they'll sell thousands of tickets to people curious to see if it's as bad as people are saying it is. So insistent. Thinking he's a Girls Aloud fan, marketing team member. The insinuation is laughable.
I expect people will be asking for their money back because I can't think why people would want to spend (in some cases) more that £100 on tickets and transport to see a bad show.
I just listened to the recordings and agree with the majority on here. She starts off okayish but it definitely goes downhill fast. Strange breathing and phrasing, underpowered and sometimes nonexistant belting. Very odd. She's not got the voice for this score. There are people (also in that facebook group) saying that her untrained pop voice is more about character and personality than note perfection, which is 1) nonsense, 2) irrelevant here given how hollow the singing sounds.
I do feel bad for her though as the comments about her arent nice, no matter how thick your skin is. Hopefully they're in rehearsals nonestop between performances. Andy Moss doesn't sound too bad(which I'm glad about considering I did like him in Hollyoaks 😂), but it's not really the standard you'd expect for a touring show that people are paying professional prices for.
Never seen the show and although I'm familiar with the cast album it's not my fave, but I was excited to see it just for the infamous tricks and illusions. Sounds like I'll be giving this a miss for multiple reasons.
