What would you say the chances of getting a discounted ticket from the Dominion itself would be? We are going to London on 7th (for the Proms) and will be really short of time to book into our hotel, then go to TKTS, and then the Dominion. Our hotel is near Euston Station, so walkable. Hi all,
Does anyone know why Liam Wrate was on as Jerry last night? I know Ashley has a week off but just wondering if his alternate was ill or not scheduled to do every show this week.
If Liam's on again tonight, I would love to see him!

Does anyone know why Liam Wrate was on as Jerry last night Welcome to the board, 99faromo. Because the show would grind pretty much to a halt if one of the characters isn't on the stage? not at all!! I've been a huge fan of both Liam and Ashley from the Book Of Mormon days and have never seen Liam as a lead so would like the opportunity  |

I'm hoping to catch him at some point. |

Absolutely! Ashley has a few weeks off planned in october, december and january Waited for so long for Ashley to be a lead and I'm still looking for u/s dates! x |

Hi all, where is the best place to get tickets for this? Seems there aren't any deals anywhere online, but deals at the Tkts booths are good. I've had a look on the show's website and it doesn't seem to be selling particularly well, so I imagine there are ways to get decent deals! I read on the previous page they were selling a lot of tickets on the day at the theatre, is this reduced or full price? Thanks |

Just to add to the above; downloaded TodayTix (actually can't believe I hadn't heard of this!). They still have rush tickets left for today, but hoping to see Ashley Day (saw him years ago when I took my cousin to see High School Musical and thought he was great!) so I will try again next week since he's on holiday!

I saw Max last night and he's a great dancer but his singing and acting weren't great. Be interested to see Liam next time he's on. |

Hi guys Am going to see this tomorrow - A40 circle is available at £31, or TodayTix in the morning which is usually £25 and V/W stalls. what would you say is better? Circle says poss restricted view - im 6ft 4 so a rail is unlikely to be a problem... Any advice would be great |

I was very disappointed with this show when I saw it from the centre of the stalls. Despite some fantastic projections and lighting, top class sound, immaculate singing and dazzling dancing, it felt like a long haul through a very dull book. And to top it all off I really disliked the ballet which seemed totally abstract without characters or story and failed to illustrate the raison d'etre of Gershwin's famous composition which was to capture the sights and sounds of Paris.
Should I go and see it again from the front row of the stalls to reappraise it or will I still be disappointed? I don't mind who I see.
Don't all shout at once!

I also don't like this show. I've tried- and it just leaves me cold.
I sat there wishing I was watching a much better musical using GershwinS music but performed with more oomph- Crazy for You.
I admired the 2 lead performances but the rest is so leaden. And the blatant rip off of Crazy for you in I got Rhythm drives me mad.
At least it won't be on for too much longer- Bat out of Hell is in talks for the Dominion.

Thanks mrbarnaby. That's just what I wanted to hear. I totally agree about 'Crazy for You' and talking of Gershwin musicals, I also thoroughly enjoyed 'A Damsel in Distress' at Chichester although that didn't please everybody. So I have saved my £31 which I can now spend on two further return visits to '42nd Street'. Whacko! And 'Bat Out of Hell' at the Dominion next year will also be welcome.

Whilst I imagine Bat Out of Hell will take over the Dominion (purely because it is the only theatre that can really fit it), it will be a shame to see American in Paris go, I really enjoyed it. But of the two big dance shows that opened this season, I epect we will lose this way before we lose 42nd Street.

Well, as I said on a previous post elsewhere, 42nd Street last Monday night had lots of empty seats at the back and sides of the stalls and the balcony was closed so it may not last all that long. But, following on from my earlier post on this thread, I was not joking and I have just booked A0 for 42nd Street on Monday night, which seems like a sensible thing to do on an unwanted Bank Holiday. Next time I will try a Day Seat but I know I will be happy in A0 even though there are a few brief obstructions in the first Act. Ah, just thinking about the 'Dames' routine makes me feel dizzy!
