^You been reading punternet again, horton ? Honestly, someone who was in a nearby show told me their own advance was massive prior to Goldilocks opening, because the public didn't fancy that title. However, once it opened, word of mouth packed the Theatre Royal and really soaked up a lot of business! I suspect Goldilocks at the Palladium might start with lower expectations but will be considered a "return to form".

I do wonder whether if they will go for a longer season this time. There weren't many performances that were not sold out or very close to being so.

Paul Zerdin is doing his one man show at the Duchess Theatre on 25th November 2019. Just saying. At The Duchess? Why such a small venue? I'd have thought that he could do a night(s) at a much larger venue. Maybe he's just trying out new material for the panto??

I would reply with "Oh yes he is" but this is Paul Zerdin. We all know he isn't.

I guess if it is this, they could go very Greatest Showman in the marketing and the title could sell very well.
Also if it works well, it could put this title back on the map. Once Qdos took over from First Family Entertainment a few years back it was clear Qdos could really struggle to attract the same audiences to different theatres who just take it in turns doing the same show. Putting a show like this as the jewel of the crown could help expand their back catalogue

I reckon they could put on any panto there which includes Julian Clary with most of the same cast and achieve a near sell out. 90% of the content will be the same whatever the show title.
It's become like the Thursford Christmas show ( highly recommended, we never miss it !) and a must-see for many thousands. Long may it continue.

Palladium have updated their status on Facebook asking people to sign up for panto announcements and Baz said last week that he will have news this week - so seems likely.

Panto must be PETER PAN Website exists however isn’t fully published yet! As in the website is live? When you search ‘peterpanpalladium.com’ in google the first search result is that exact website but says ‘no info’ which probably means the domain is registered but is being edited in - so no, it’s not fully live.

I'd be surprised to see Robert Lindsay do the SAME panto two years on the trot... Although he did say at the Panto Awards at the weekend it was the most fun he's ever had on a job...

Of course it could be true, and it's not unusual for QDOS to move the same star in the same role around different cities, but given RL was in Richmond last year I'd be surprised if they were to have him at the Palladium in the same role. Also, although he is a big name to us, he is hardly a big box office name anymore like Dawn French or Paul O'Grady in the 'guest' slot of the cast.

Panto must be PETER PAN Website exists however isn’t fully published yet! peterpanpalladium.com isn't currently registered. See, for example, whois.domaintools.com/peterpanpalladium.com. It looks like it was previously registered for 2 years (I don't know exactly when), but the domain has been allowed to expire. You could buy it for around £10. It's showing that message in Google because it was previously registered. I don't have a paid domaintools subscription to check the history, but I imagine that the domain expired quite recently.

Isn’t Robert Lindsay touring with Prism during the Autumn. Unless it’s a short tour then he won’t be available

Don't think the Palladium would want to be sloppy seconds to Richmond for Robert Lindsay, would they?

Apart from a reprise of a couple of numbers from his stage successes of Me & My Girl and Oliver I thought Robert Lindsay gave one of the laziest performances I’ve ever seen in panto with his very laid back take on Hook. I got the impression it was all rather beneath him and he really would have rather been somewhere else.

If it is Peter Pan I really hope they cast someone else besides Robert Lindsay.

I got the impression it was all rather beneath him and he really would have rather been somewhere else. I would have thought the same, but then I did see that he attended the great british pantomime awards so I guess the experience can't have been that bad for him!
