Beyonce can barely act she would be a disaster She acted very well in Dreamgirls imo and she has an amazing voice. She would never do a musical..not in a million years. She is an international superstar now.
I agree any other Destinys Child could do it - Michelle has done lots of theatre before but Kelly is much higher profile. Has she acted before? I really like Kelly's voice and it'd get punters in

I somehow doubt that there will be any celebrity casting for Tina herself.

Alexandra Burke could do it. With her finger in her ear I'm not a Burke fan but I've just watched her dance to Proud Mary in Strictly (wonder whose song choice that was) and heard her react in awe when Bruno said he'd worked with Tina. Mmm....I wonder.

Mmm....I wonder. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if they got her in to do it. Would sell plenty of tickets after Strictly exposure. There’d be about five weeks between the Strictly tour finishing and this starting previews.

Plenty of time, she's a Tina fan, she can dance, she can (apparently) act - it's gotta be!

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if she got the role, especially after tonight's Strictly performance/reaction. Timings would all work and I agree that her name would sell tickets given the current exposure on Strictly.

Ms Burke, love her or hate her, sells tickets. The public just love her.
She was the best-selling Rachel Marron in London during The Bodyguard's run, and the show did amazing business on tour, as did Sister Act, which returned to some venues.
I certainly wouldn't be surprised if she ended up doing Tina (ooh matron)

Madonna’s Take A Bow video was said to be her publicly auditioning for Evita.
I think we saw Alexandra Burke doing the same last night.

Wasn't there a Tina Turner musical a few years ago (Soul Sister?). And wasn't the lead supposedly amazing?

Not only was she the best selling in those three months she played the role, she was also paired with the closing of the show, which would of also caused a minor boost in interest. So that paired with her, its not really surprising,

It's a shame British performers are getting less chances to lead a new west end show. The Book Of Mormon has yet to have a British lead, Dreamgirls started with 2 American Dreams which now is 3 and the replacement for Amber likely also American in Marisha. Groundhog Day..Andy Karl. The King and I coming up...the lead not British. And so on and so on...
I'm all for u having some of these great performers coming over but it feels like British talent is being overlooked too much

My thoughts exactly. But questions is as a producer - wouldn’t you just want the best person for the job even if they are from Greenland to Timbuktu?

"Tina the Musical runs at the Aldwych Theatre from 17 April until 16 June, with previews from 21 March." WhatsOnStage
Is it touring or is this just a short booking period for now?

My prediction is that it's a deliberately short booking period so that it inevitably sells out and then they can spout the usual wibble about extending due to "phenomenal demand"
