How can you get cheap tickets to this now they've stopped doing the lottery? Book the cheap seats in advance. It's selling out, it doesn't need to discount. |

Unfortunate timing given that yesterday's Guardian G2 included an article on how performers stay fit for long runs and double-show days, and that Ms Warren was one of the 3 artistes featured - the others being a dancer and an opera singer. But for the avoidance of doubt, I'm all in favour of people putting their health first.

^Yes, taken a look at it. It's OK. You get two-third of the show, and it's played front a fair bit, so it isn't bad. Getting what you pay for, more or less. Frankly, though, if row D in the upper circle is the same price, it's way better there. Thanks so much monkey! |

Love, love, love this show! I cried, laughed, cried some more then danced! 😄 Adrienne is stunning in every way, she just blew me away. What a talent!
There was some drama in the dress circle at the end of the interval. Two groups had to be removed and it delayed the start of the show. I made sure to get the tea from an usher. 😉 So one group had been disruptive and people around them had complained. Then with the other group there was an issue with alcohol that they were not allowed to have or something. So many people were removed that it left a gap in the dress circle, which was full before.🤷♀️

Finally saw this at the matinee today from Grand Circle D4. A late booking and there were a few seats unsold.
The seat itself has a great view. You miss a tiny amount of the front of the stage where nothing notable happens. It doesn’t feel all that distant. And you have extra legroom.
The downside. You get really intimate with the neighbours. Thin seats, no arm rests. One of my neighbours just wouldn’t fit in a single seat. The other side was a group of women who kept chatting and sharing wine (or some other beverage) from an illicit plastic bottle. An usher did tell them to quieten down at one point. That worked for a few minutes. In the interval they discussed with each other how they’d done nothing wrong. Then they were worse in the second half.
The other problem with the seat is people continually use the row to get in and out to all the other seats.
What a terrible audience.
I liked the announcement at the start about not singing along (the ladies near me got very miffed about that). Most people did follow it for the first half. Second half, when loads of people returned with glasses of champagne, all bets were off.
There was a group of laughing women, particularly in the second half, but also noticeably in the first half during the scene when Tina got beaten up. I just don’t understand these people. I can tell a lot of people expected something like Mamma Mia, not a story of challenge, struggle and survival.
And of course pantomime boos for Ike at the end.
Jenny Fitzpatrick was Tina. Good actor, good voice, didn’t sound much like Tina to me. But I’ve not seen anyone else in the role to compare this with.
No other obvious covers on.
I was expecting it to be really good based on other reviews. It just came across as watchable and without any of the charm of other jukebox musicals. I’m not a huge Tina Turner fan, but she had some memorable hits. I didn’t leave thinking she was as big a star as I know she was.
Perhaps the audience soured it and I give most musicals a second chance. But I’d wait for ticket deals. With how well this is selling I doubt they’ll come along very soon.

Finally seen this tonight as first show of the year (and last of the trip). I'm not a big Tina Turner fan to begin with and still haven't become one after tonight, but I nonetheless really enjoyed the show. Adrienne Warren was on and she was amazing, what a tour de force. Really lucky to have seen her.
Only downside: They had run out of programmes. Never happened to me before, so that's the first show I don't have a programme for. Maybe that's an omen to stop collecting them altogether...

They had run out of programmes Ebay usually has a load for sale. Deleted my account a long time ago after a few sellers replied with angry mails about my allegedly bad rating. Personally, I found 3 or 4 stars to be perfectly fine for their performance, but these exchanges got silly and annoying. I’m in London again mid February. Maybe I’ll just pop in and ask if they are back on stock - if they’ll let me in without a ticket that is. |

I'm meant to be off to see this tonight, but not sure if ill bother. I'm exhausted from a long and busy weekend and only booked to see Adrienne Warren (i have no real knowledge of Tina Turner beyond Drag Race if im honest) and i stupidly didn't check what dates the alternate does.
I've seen jenny in many shows before and am sure she'll be fabulous, but Adrienne was the real draw for me, and i got a very cheap ticket.... hmm...

Went to see this for the second time. I enjoyed it the first time, but really didn't like my seat in the Grand Circle row D- clear view and decent legroom, but felt quite distant and no arm rests. I reckoned, after so much intimate contact, the large-ish man next to me should have proposed at the end of the evening. This time, I made a last minute booking and went for A1 in the Dress Circle (it was that or rear stalls). It was ten pounds more than the Grand Circle seat but IMO MUCH better. You miss a tiny corner of the stage, but you are REALLY close, so I got so much more from the performances. I found the seat very comfortable (arm rests, a space next to me for my coat, the people behind me were up very high so if I did lean slightly (I pretty much didn't) they weren't affected. Nice people next to me. It is still pretty outrageous what they are charging for a restricted view seat (I sat in a similar seat for £25 for Company) but it seems to be selling out, so there's a market for it. To me it's worth the little bit extra compared to the Grand Circle for the closeness and comfort.
Show is in good shape. Still feels quite fresh and some of the supporting performances have stepped up - the humour is playing better, some characters are more defined. The costumes are great. Adrienne Warren is extraordinary.

A bargain - yay!The few dates where I could see them available, those side view front row Dress Circle seats were showing in the £60 area as opposed to the £50 region for Row D Grand Circle. Maybe they got complaints at £80? I am someone who rarely pays more than £35 for a ticket so it is a big of deep breath before I splurge.

Unexpectedly seeing this tonight, after snapping up a single seat return for the WoS club night tonight. One of the few perks of being alone! I don't know where I'm sitting but it's a Band A seat for £48.50 so shouldn't be too bad! Quite excited to get this one ticked off and seeing Adrienne in action 😀
