Looks like Heidi Range will be the female lead. Is it bad I don't even know who she is? Is this stunt casting? lol

Be fair, "one of the Sugababes" only narrows it down to approximately 28% of the adult female population of the UK.

In today's crap 'claim to fame' my old flatmate, at the time a teen actor on Brookie, once had a barny with Heidi Range at a Beauty Pagent (yes, really) in Liverpool back in the day.

Well I did say earlier it was bad...... You did, sean, you did. But the reality... It looks so cheap and sucked dry of creativity. A bit like White Christmas there a few years back! I have to say the staging was one of the better parts of the show when I saw it; it didn’t feel cheap at all to me. It just seems a bit random that they’ve resurrected it now.

From what I've heard from a few sources, the how was supposed to fill that theatre until White Christmas fell through at the last minute so they needed a filler to go in that was easy to put in there and didn't require too much of a struggle to get it done. As its already toured, things like sets are already in storage and things on the creative side are already set so it's relatively easy to put it in there with a British cast etc.

I think they should just have a different Sugababe on each night. That should keep them going for the limited run and half a tour of the provinces before they run out.

Looks like Heidi Range will be the female lead. Yes, when Josh walks up to the Zoltar machine Heidi is going to walk on from the wings singing "push the button".

I also think there should be a bit of dream casting for this. I’m definitely going if the leads are Tom Hanks and Phoebe Waller- Bridge. Just putting it out there. 😂

Oh come on. Really. Is this what we're stooping to already? This screams panicked, uninformed desperation to plug a gap in a big empty space. A reunion of has-been 90's popstars in a mediocre, at best, musical in one of London's biggest theatres. Sigh.
To me, this looks like a group of out-of-touch execs have gone "Whats working at the minute?" and the response has been "A musical about a woman hitting 35 and the emotional challenges she faces". "Right, get me something like that that'll appeal to that age-range".
Maybe 10 years ago the 25-35yr olds cared about seeing the 90's popstars reunite in their Student Union, boozed up. But now? Is that really what people will race to see? I saw a S Club, 5ive (4), Atomic Kitten and a few others on a "reunion" bill at a festival a few years back and attendance was low. They're not big draws anymore. To expect "stunt casting" like this to draw the masses in is ignorant, in my opinion.

I'm actually looking forward to it. I imagine it will be either downsized or have ridiculous prices to make up for a limited run like that. Oh no you can’t downsize this, you need someone BIG as the titular charachter.

Fun fact: This played the flagship Shubert Theatre on Broadway, where the Shubert Organization put pressure on the producers to close, they saw sense as it was losin* so much money, to make way for Whistle Down the Wind.
Still mean the Dominion will be empty over the summer, thought this might start in June to give it a kind of decent run.

I don't see a mention it will be led by Jay but he is being used in the promo picture so I'd assume so.

Even through Nederlander, the entire stalls back to and including Row Z are minimum £81 on Fridays and Saturdays with central G-N £96.50. Rows VV-YY are £71 and Row ZZ £61. £7 cheaper for all tickets Monday-Thursday. Minimum £81 on Fridays and Saturdays and £74 on other days (apart from a handful of restricted view seats) for everything in the front half of the Circle too!
