Oh huh, I missed the email for that, I was going on 9th. I'd still quite like to go so hopefully can rearrange. I'm rebooked, all good. I know nothing about the musical but I like the film so I am looking forward to this.

Hmm. Not terrible, but a bit anaemic compared to Crista Moore on the Broadway recording.
(Ms. Moore is one of those people who should have become a huge star, but didn't.)

A few Yorkshire vowels slipping out there (“understand” etc) but sounds ok without being very MT. For those who have seen her, what’s her acting like? On her wiki entry acting is 4th out of 5 skills, coming after singer, model and tv presenter. Dancer comes last which is apparent from the video *meow* 🙂

Fabulous musical ruined by below average talent. She needs to learn about acting through song. Ugh

Fabulous musical ruined by below average talent. She needs to learn about acting through song. Ugh They had to do it all the time in Girls Aloud...eg pretending they could stand each other, pretending they wanted to be there. Loads of acting experience.

Sounds much better than I expected to be honest, but I still prefer Diana Vickers’s version.

Seen some pictures of the Dominion tonight. It’s empty! Gotta feel sorry for the cast, but pricing for this shows has been a major issue.

Seen some pictures of the Dominion tonight. It’s empty! Gotta feel sorry for the cast, but pricing for this shows has been a major issue. They’ve had Rush tickets available up until 6pm Tues and Wed on TodayTix, which is quite rare to see happen as most shows sell out of their rush tickets within the first 30 minute. Also lots of discounts at TKTS each up of up to 54%. I think they need to offer discounts out further to other online retailers to really boost last minute ticket sales. Also not the best month to open a new show.

Saw this last night and just couldn't warm to it. Firstly it felt way too long, curtain came down about 10.20. Parts of the show were so slow I felt like they could have easily cut half an hour off the run time. Secondly the songs aren't great, very repetitive, and not very well sung. Be warned if you don't like singing children then maybe give this one a wide berth! It's been a long time since I saw the film but felt like there were massive holes in the plot. Not sure if this was as evident in the film but found the whole thing pretty ridiculous.
Positives - The set was quite cool and used well and the piano scene was fun. This got the biggest applause of the night.
Dominion had a lot of empty seats, lots of people moving forward in the stalls before it started. TodayTix £15 ticket at the back of the stalls was a good view and actually didn't feel as far away as I expected.

This is just a fun easy musical. Very traditional in style.
I must admit, I was thinking I’d made a mistake booking this. I probably paid too much for front row, even with a discount. But it turned out good.
There just aren’t enough musicals like this around. Singing, dancing, not too taxing. But everything needed to draw in the families.
Apart from, there were few children there. But it was around two thirds full in the Stalls.
A great cast. The kids on stage did well for what may have been their first show. Good applause for Matthew Kelly, who has real presence. Wendi Peters only really cameos, but sings well. Kimberley Walsh sings fine. And Jay McGuinness has a real childlike quality about him, dances well, mostly sings well and even has a scene in his superhero Y-Fronts. As a bonus Eddie Myles is on stage too, looking crisp with longer hair and even has a few lines.
Finished about 10:15pm.
It won’t win any awards and the plot is thin, but it’s a fresh fully staged musical and a pleasant night out. Something that’s really lacking on the West End right now.

This really could of been something quite spectacular. You can see why the tickets are so expensive. There are a lot of whistles on bells with a an at times stunning looking set and lighting. A hd curved screen being used well the center point highlight. At times it looks quite glorious. If you are into gizmos this is the set for you! The book follows the film well and at times reproduces its charm... But this is a musical and that is where it sadly stumbles with bland tune after tune. The band were great, the sound quality impressive. But the songs! Never dreadful but nothing inspiring. The rocket was ready but no lift off musically. Wendi Peters is excellent throughout with what she has to work with. Jay McGuinness fine and I was quite taken with Kimberley Walsh..Singing well. Matthew Kelly is miscast for the role..Needed something quite different imo. Later into the show the rocket briefly fired into action with a song called "coffee black" and for me was the highlight of the show. So grab yourself a reduced price ticket..Dumb down your expectations music wise and you are in for a fun night out...
