Twitter going berserk, it's trending in the UK. Half the people have no picture, the other half have no picture or sound. What an absolute nightmare.

Glad I didn’t rush back from the matinee I saw today. Just saw on Twitter that my local cinema has sound, but no picture. No doubt it will end up on YouTube in full anyway…

Last night's opening performance in Norwich went ahead with 8 (yes eight!) understudies. Tuesday's performance cancelled. They say the rest of the performances will go ahead as planned.(I'll double check before we leave the house for the theatre tomorrow!!!)

This is the local paper "review" which has some info. www.eveningnews24.co.uk/things-to-do/days-out/rocky-horror-show-norwich-theatre-royal-review-8457598As the Theatre Royal seems to have abandoned programmes since reopening, not sure I'll have much more info, assuming it's on, tomorrow.

Was anyone else (who wasn't off during the live broadcast) off last night? Jordan Fox & Tyla Dee Nurden were both off Monday, no idea who else was off yesterday but 1 other cast member was leaving them with not enough cover to perform the show. They’re hopeful that those ill (without covid) are well enough to return tonight to allow the show to go ahead. Friday sees the return of Stephen, Suzie & Lauren so the weekend shows at least should go ahead.

Was at last nights show at Norwich, first time seeing this show and for me I really enjoyed it and have to say the cast, given everything thats going on and the missing members, did a fantastic job. The Norwich audience, which is usually somewhat reserved, were very lively and into the whole thing and lots clearly were big fans and knew the show inside out and had dressed up, I obvioulsy knew that this was a thing with this show, but it was a really cool thing to see both men and woman making such an effort, lots of stockings all round!
Phillip Franks gave a short speach beforehand and said of the problems they had and the previous nights cancellation and that for this show two people who last performed the show 3 years ago were bought in and another person who had just a few hours time to rehersal and had last performed in a different version of the show in another country. Audience were very enthusiastic from the get go.
A few people were into the comebacks, with one guy in particular on the ball throughout, lots up for the Time Warp and everybody just generally haing a good time. Full credit to the cast for getting this done and getting through the very tricky time, I didnt notice any slip ups or snaffs, although as I said, my first time seeing this. Great rocking songs and left with a big smile on my face, Ticket was only a tenner as well, back of the Dress Circle.

Have to share my experience.
I was in Inverness yesterday getting some bits and only planning to stay a few hours before driving back to my little Scottish town. My partner and I went into a lovely bar called Scotch & Rye (highly recommend if anyone finds themselves in Inverness) and at the table next to me was Stephen Webb!
I say hello, that I’m a big fan of musical theatre and that I’ve seen him in a few things over the years. He asks if I’m going to see Rocky Horror at Eden Court and I tell that I contemplated it but all the good seats were gone so was just planning on heading home after shopping. I said that funnily enough we did have tickets to see the show in York but because of me starting a new job as a restaurant manager and not having enough staff to run the place properly I wasn’t able to take a few days off to go see it so we exchanged our tickets for a credit note which we used to buy tickets for The Cher Show, which stars Stephen’s girlfriend Danielle.
He tells me that he will sort some house seats out for the show that night for me and my partner completely free of charge! He took my number and about an hour later messages to say I have two tickets under his name at the box office!
We throughly enjoyed the show as it was my partners first time seeing it. I genuinely couldn’t believe that someone would do something so nice for a complete stranger! Absolutely fantastic guy.

This is lovely. She’s got herself a good ‘un there, and despite previously being identified as the 2nd Mrs B, I approve wholly of their nuptials.

It's been a funny old week of theatre, one minute I'm in London's glitzy west end watching Sir Mark Rylance in Jerusalem and 72 hours later I find myself at 9pm on a Saturday night doing the Time Warp along with around 2500 people at the Empire theatre for the last show of the RHS week in Liverpool. After watching some heavy going plays earlier on in the week, it was just refreshing to watch this show. A great 2-hour party atmosphere with many in the audience (and some FOH staff) putting in some serious effort into their fancy dress outfits (I was not one of them!). I suspect though for many of them it was their usual Saturday night out in Liverpool outfits.
The audience were in fine form and voice tonight with a full-on sing along and with all the usual call outs (and many new un-pc ones) for the audience participation bit that comes with watching this cult stage classic. With seasoned RHS narrator Frank Philips guiding proceedings and dealing with the audience participation with great humour and with plenty of one-liners about Prince Andrew and Boris Johnson / Partygate. Frank even managed to get the audience to sing a bit of "Any Dream Will Do" ready for when Joseph arrives in Liverpool in a few weeks. With returnees Stephen Webb as Frank and the ever present Kristian Lavercombe as Riff Raff leading the cast with plenyty of energy and fun.
It was a great night out and certainly left me with a big smile on my face walking out of the theatre tonight.

The Witches of Eastwick thread reminded me to post this - with the Rocky company without a Frank or a cover Frank last week, Richard Meek (former Brad and then Eddie/Dr Scott) was on in Southend. He covered David Bedella as Frank 15 years ago...and never went on then!
