Back in Manchester again next year. Really wish they'd retire this version and do something different

Oh dear. Worst Frank I ever saw. The audience were shouting his lines to him as he couldn't remember them.

Awww! I didn’t get to see him but I rather like him on the cast recording. Goes to show how different seeing a live performance is!

Well we’re now into Rocky’s 50th Anniversary Year and you wouldn’t know it was such a significant occasion.
The tour continues unchanged and no celebratory events are announced.
Website and Facebook is rarely updated - a bit like the show which has been the same for years now

Just as Frank asks "Do you think it was wrong of me to split Eddie's brain in two?" I ask the following "Is it wrong that I know every word of The Rocky Picture Show- book and lyrics?"

No. Have seen this many many times but at Dartford it was ruined by all the topical adlibs from the Narrator who was an understudy.

For many fans it is the topical ad libs from the Narrator which make the show - keeping it fresh and exciting Philip Franks is a particular master of this - as was Reece Budin when he understudied despite not being a celebrity

Christopher Biggins was fab too at that part….

I hate audience participation, but had a moment of impulse-buying madness when booking other shows at the same venue and booked this too. Little bit scared now. 😂

Little bit scared now. 😂 This show requires audience participation lol… The great thing about this show is that it is equally as good with or without audience participation. If you want to dress up then you can but there will be just as many people who aren’t - particularly at performances early in the week. Equally you will not be picked on from the stage unlike in some pantos or standup performances. If you know the correct responses or can think of a new witty one then you’re at liberty to chip in but it’s by no means compulsory and to be honest is better without the drunken heckling which has crept in since it started being advertised as a “party”

I’m not bothered about the panto-style shouting out or people dressing up. But I’ve read that they throw stuff and that will end up annoying me.

Yes thankfully the throwing stuff stopped years ago now - the regular fans know this, and there are signs in the theatres reminding patrons too.

Thursday 25th May is to be a special Gala Performance at the Peacock Theatre to mark the 50th Anniversary.
All tickets have been withdrawn from sale on the theatre website (it shows as sold out)
With three weeks to go it strikes me as very disorganised that there is no information on when and how the fans can buy tickets. Especially for those who need to arrange travel and accommodation
