This show appeals to me and I was going to book last night but then noticed it's in the smaller theatre with no allocated seats. As a front row fanatic this always deters me.

Can someone tell me the "system" at Southwark ? Will it be a mad scramble when they open the auditorium or is there some kind of first come first served process ?

In the smaller theatre, I watched the Bodies play last week and found there wasnt any kind of seating system. It was  first come first served .

I watched Bodies as a mid week matinee so it wasn't particularly crazy trying to get a seat, though I dont know if it would be the same at an evening show as it was my 1st time in the smaller theatre.

I've taken the plunge and booked the second preview. Being on my own and a lot faster on my feet than most people of my pensionable age I'm pretty good at grabbing the seat I want ....

I’ve booked the first preview. I use a stick a lot of the time at the moment, and when I went to pick up the tickets for the last show I booked in the little, they asked me if I’d like them to reserve seats at the front so I didn’t have to do the stairs. I thought I’d mention this because I thought it would be helpful for those with mobility issues who might be put off booking otherwise.

I decided not to risk the first preview as it has been cancelled on a couple of recent shows at Southwark and I don't live in London and travel is a consideration.

Thinking of booking Billy Bishop Goes To War and ... Benjamin Button in the same venue. Is the layout in " The Little" similar to the main theatre or just a traditional front row ?

Saw this last night- quirky little show but quite lighthearted and fun. A few sound issues, but first preview so to be expected. Seats are arranged in a u shape- I sat in one of the sides but the view was still fine

I missed this last night thanks to M4 delays around Heathrow and a National Express coach driver who told his boss there was a 30 minute delay warning and was instructed to take a 60+ extra minutes diversion route instead. The drivers usually use their experience and initiative in these situations but this one was quite young and didn't even seem to have satnav. I would have arrived about 20.15 so phoned Southwark Playhouse but they confirmed it was expected to start on time and wasn't a sell out so they couldn't resell my ticket.

Will probably go again but not book in advance unless it starts selling out.

Loved this today, even if it was stuffy as hell in the Little. A charming, quirky little show, tuneful songs, everyone was in great voice. As others have said, the seating is unreserved in a U shape but there didn't seem to be a bad area to sit in. Fine for legroom even for the tall ones like me. Definitely recommend and another bargain for £12 if you do the PAYG scheme like I do.

Also if you sit front row, Luke Bayer might give you a party popper (not a euphemism).

Such a fun little show! Excellent performances all round and it’s got a pretty decent score. I do think it’s one of those that could be trimmed to 90 mins straight through and lose the interval though.
Highly recommend! That’s two excellent musicals in the little this year.

Hit musical Fiver has revealed it will be live-streamed for three performances at the end of November (Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November with a matinee on the Saturday) from the SWP.

The piece is directed by Alex James Ellison and Tom Lees with set design by Justin Williams and stage management by Jack Evans.
The cast will be made up of Luke Bayer (Everybody's Talking About Jamie), Aoife Clesham (Peter Pan), Dan Buckley (Ferris), Hiba Elchikhe (Everybody's Talking About Jamie) and Ellison (The Secret Garden).

Tried to give this a listen yesterday, managed up to track 4, not for me sadly. Personally I was, how should I say it, less than impressed with some vocals. BUT glad it is out there, cast recordings are becoming rarer so the more the better!

Same here. I lasted until about half way through but also not for me.
Maybe would have enjoyed it more actually watching the show.
