No "real" news, sorry - but I follow Eliot Kennedy on Facebook - he's having a birthday concert on 29 March 2019 in Sheffield (his home town) , tickets for the gig at Sheffield City Hall are on sale (and some sections sold out) as he has starry names joining him. "Best pals Gary Barlow and Eliot will be joined onstage by, among others, Alfie Boe, S Club, Kenny Thomas, John Reilly and M People frontwoman Heather Small". Tickets on sale - www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk/Online/mapSelect.asp Last night on Facebook Eliot said Finding Neverland was coming to London (no details) but was excited that there would be "something special" at his birthday concert. Sorry .. Started the thread so I wanted to add Eliots latest comment :
OK Clearly I have confused a few folks... For those that don't know... I am having a party... a big 50th party... at Sheffield City Hall on Friday 29th March.... It is a show, where I will be singing some of my hits and playing some of my hits with some of the artists I had the hits with... Still with me?.... OK... this gig is going to be featuring GARY BARLOW, ALFIE BOE, KENNY THOMAS, S-CLUB, ANDY ABRAHAM, HEATHER SMALL, JOHN PARR...
Now FINDING NEVERLAND FANS>>>> For the first time, anywhere in the world... I've done my best to blank out the entire Broadway production because I still haven't forgiven the producers for ditching the entire score used in the Leicester Curve run! |

I completely agree, the Leicester version was amazing. I met Rob Ashford once and very happily told him just how much I'd enjoyed the show when I saw it and that I had no interest in the Broadway production. I think the first preview in Leicester was one of my favorite theatre trips ever. |

Frank Wildhorn told me to my face (well, I was in the audience facing him) that Jekyll and Hyde AND Bonnie and Clyde was definitely coming to London. That was over 2 years ago...

I completely agree, the Leicester version was amazing. I met Rob Ashford once and very happily told him just how much I'd enjoyed the show when I saw it and that I had no interest in the Broadway production. I think the first preview in Leicester was one of my favorite theatre trips ever. I thought the Leicester production had issues that needed working on but they were issues with the book rather than the score. I was really surprised when it was announced that there was going to be a new score for Broadway & when I heard some of it I found it very disappointing. It seemed very obvious & cliched. I thought the Leicester score was much more subtle & beautiful, especially on my second hearing of it (I went back a second time to see Norman Bowman & Zoe Rainey on for the leads). I still get fragments of it going through my head at times. |

There's some great songs in it (All That Matters, Stronger, and When Your Feet Don't Touch The Ground particularly). I've seen versions online with Matthew Morrison and Jeremy Jordan who were both brilliant. I do hope it gets another life one day.

Jealous that you saw it with Norman. I saw it twice with Julian but I did see Zoe the second time. Thanks to you I've now got little bits stuck in head which I'm definitely not complaining about at all. I believe he only went on once or possibly twice. Certainly only on scheduled show, which was a Wednesday matinee. Fortunately I had a few hours of leave to use up at work so I took the afternoon off & popped up to Leicester. I didn't know that Zoe was also scheduled for that show until I got there & saw the signs. While I thought both lead couples were very good I slightly preferred Norman & Zoe so was very pleased I had the opportunity to see them. I saw it in Leicester and really enjoyed it at that stage, but I also really like what Barlow did with the music afterwards as well. There's some great songs in it (All That Matters, Stronger, and When Your Feet Don't Touch The Ground particularly). [/quote] Yeah 'Stronger' is the closer of Act 1 with Barrie, Hook and all the pirates doing swashbuckly things. 'All That Matters' is Sylvia's big Act 1 solo. I'm seeing Laura Michelle Kelly at Cadogan Hall tonight so I'm hoping she's gonna perform it 🤞😀 |

Laura Michelle Kelly sang All That Matters at her concert tonight and it was such a goosebumps inducing moment. She's such a force! 💕 Admittedly when I saw the show on Broadway I didn't really like it (Hey, you can't like everything, right?), but that song really stood out as something special...

Really? With everything else wanting a west end run. I saw it in New York and it was very average, and lacked all the heart and emotion of the film. Plus eye rolling gay fairy jokes. |

It was really beautiful to look at in parts but as a whole, it was a very “meh” show. Not one I’d ever expect to be remounted without a real overhaul of the material.
