Just seen Michael Harrison tweet that they are setting up the Palladium stage to discuss Cinderella. I presume the full cast would be there? It says stay tuned for exciting updates so maybe we'll find out he final cast this week?!

This has not been a success. I've booked all my Christmas shows now (Annie Get Your Gun in Sheffield, Sweet Charity in Manchester, Scouse of the Antartic in Liverpool plus two pantos Wimbledon and Richmond)...
I hate to say if but I'm pretty much over Cinderella at the Palladium and I don't know anyone who has bought tickets for it! No one! It's too expensive and the cast isn't good enough. Why pay more for people you have already seen elsewhere?
Bombed.....

If, when it opens, it gets poor reviews and only half filled houses then fair enough but we can't say that yet. I've booked for it and I usually go Wimbledon. Wimbledon have only announced Matthew Kelly so (so far) the cast is better at the Palladium. I personally really like Amanda Holden so I look forward to seeing her. But I'm sure there will be casting for the remaining parts in September. It may be expensive but it's a one off and it will probably not be done again!

I and my friends have all booked the Palladium panto, and we love the cast so far announced. Yet Annie Get Your Gun and Sweet Charity are two of my all time most disliked shows (I actually fell asleep during SC, shock horror, as I was so bored).
As I said, though, it takes all sorts!

I'm kinda expecting an unknown for Cinderella. The sisters will no doubt be a comedy duo ala French and Saunders, Lucas and Walliams, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if the lead casting is an unknown.

I'm really getting a strong feeling that Carrie Hope Fletcher might be Cinderella. I don't know why but I think she seems a fairly likely choice.

Oh I hope they don't choose her - I can't see her in that role at all. I still have a feeling it'll be an American as Cinderella, not sure why.

I still have a feeling it'll be an American as Cinderella, not sure why. It would give artistic integrity to the London Palladium's autumn season exploring the American influence on popular narrative theatrical traditions if they were to follow up their recent seminal production of Scooby-Doo! Live Musical Mysteries by casting an American in the central role of Cinderella in their forthcoming production of Cinderella! Panto Large.

I hope I'm not right, but what are the chances of Cinders being one of the early XFactor rejects?

Though they do need someone to get the young crowd in as O'Grady, Clary, Mead and Havers, great though they are, won't appeal to the teens. If XFactor is too late then maybe someone who's recently left a soap.......Kylie anyone?....oh, hang on...!!

Screw it, lets go all out and get Beyoncé in as Cinderella! I doubt they'd have the budget to pay her entourage let alone her!.....

It is clearly not possible for the Casting Director to find anyone sufficiently right to portray Cinderella in this epic pantomime. The show should be cancelled and replaced by a revival of Scooby-Doo! Live Musical Mysteries. The London Palladium could add a Monday matinee in the final week to allow the industry to attend if they are unable to be bothered to book when everyone else does.

So far I'm really happy with this casting - no-one I want to see particularly (in fact I'd cross the world NOT to see Nigel Havers!) and I loathe panto so this is perfect for me. Imagine one of my favourite performers saying yes, would ruin my Christmas!

LOL. Takes very little to make you unhappy I guess. One of my favorites is in it.
