It's from The Sun, but Dan Wooton usually gets the scoops...
Conflicted.
I've yet to see a jukebox musical I've enjoyed, but I LOVE SAW's music...
Book by Dawn O'Porter...

So the same song stretched over two and a half hours then?
I jest of course; they wrote a number of stone cold classics amongst their more workmanlike fillers. The stuff they did with Donna Summer had a real melancholy to it that I liked.

Blimey, if this does get past the workshop stage 2020 is going to be a very expensive year for me!

Fingers crossed this happens. So many great songs to choose from. Not too bothered about Frozen the musical, but this one I’ll definitely book for.

I went to a SAW concert at the o2 once and literally everyone who has ever sung one of their songs was there. Have to say it was one of the best nights ever. So cheesy and camp and I couldn't believe how many hits they have had. So this musical will no doubt be the first jukebox musical I will ever see

We went there and had a fantastic time! In saying that, we tend to do anything that Jason does anyway, as I may have mentioned before. The SAW music was a big part of my life for so long...

Yes that's the one. Jason and Kylie,Red or Dead, Rick Astley, Sinita the list was endless. I even had a bop and I DON'T dance.

I'm not sure how much fun these songs would be without the original singers. Dan Wooton is off his rocker if her thinks Kylie is gonna star in this!

The SAW or PWL licensed songs have always had jukebox musical potential - their artists did a number of covers but there are enough well known original songs from Kylie, Jason, Rick Astley plus No 1's from Sonia, Mel and Kim etc to drop in.

This could be incredible but I do hope some of the songs are radically reworked. Kylie has proved there is some real substance in some of her SAW material with her own reworks over the years with Steve Anderson.
Her "Never Too Late" from the Abbey Road sessions is a good example.

Ansolutely agree, there’s huge scope for mixing the song styles depending on the songs they choose. I’d be shocked if kylie starred in this but it may be never too late for her acting career. I tried to write (and have) a SAW jukebox musical and it’s surprising how much material you have to use.

There was a one woman musical featuring the songs of SAW starring Denise Van Outen at the Arts Theatre.
I quietly walked out in the interval. Good songs and good arrangements of the songs - but DVA was playing a less likeable version of herself.
