Lucie’s doing concerts in Cardiff, Bristol, Milford Haven and Abergavenny in the next few months. Not exactly a UK Tour but should be a fun night for those of us nearby!

Setlist for tonight’s Cardiff show:
Act I 1. Not sure what the first song was 2. Getting Married Today (Company) 3. The Wizard and I (Wicked) 4. Journey To The Past (Anastasia) 5. Me and the Sky (Come From Away) 6. I’ll Never Love Again (A Star is Born) 7. The Winner Takes It All (ABBA) 8. Never Give Up On You (Eurovision) 9. You’ll Be Back (Hamilton)
Act II 10. Legally Blonde Medley 11. Shape of You (Ed Sheeran) 12. Let It Go (Frozen) 13. A Summer in Ohio (The Last Five Years) 14. If I Loved You (Carousel) 15. Bring Him Home (Les Misérables) 16. Memphis Lives In Me (Memphis) 17. The Greatest Showman Medley 18. That’s Life
Great mix of songs, I love that it was mostly musical theatre, that’s what we really love to hear! Lucie was in great voice and the intimate space was nice.
First story of the night was that Lucie auditioned for the Company revival when they hadn’t decided if Amy was to become Jamie but obviously ultimately didn’t get it when they decided to go with the gender-flip. Her version of Getting Married Today was basically her listing lots and lots of musicals to the tune of the song, it’s hard to explain if you weren’t there! She forgot the words a few times and if I’m being brutally honest it was a bit of a mess but she carried it through with her natural charisma and humour. I think it’s probaly best to take it out of the set though as she said 😂 She then told us that she has auditioned for Wicked 9(!!!) times. She would be a truly amazing Elphaba and I really hope she finally gets the part very soon. Her version of Me and the Sky had me in tears, I think it’s partly just the song, but wow! I really hope she has the chance to be Beverley when she’s older too. The Legally Blonde medley was so much fun, and she sings all the songs amazingly. There was this fan in the audience who’d seen her in the tour 15 times and comes to everything she does screaming out a bit and singing along. 🙄🙄🙄 Bring Him Home was incredible and That’s Life was a very slick and classy end to the night. Lovely evening overall, with very overpriced prosecco!

I was there too thanks to the Time Out deal. She was brilliant - funny, humble and in fantastic voice. Great song choices as well. Hearing her perform She Used To Be Mine with Sara Bareilles in the audience was probably the highlight 😀

They also recorded the evening for a live album release, so at least you'll be able to listen to that 😀

A wonderful concert performance from Lucie Jones, who overcame the nightmare of her matinee set literally falling to pieces due to technical difficulties earlier the same day.
Highlights included Corner of the Sky, She Used to Be Mine and I Dreamed a Dream, as well a beautiful rendition of My House from Matilda. Also, Marvin from #ZoologicalSociety was unexpected but got a lot of laughs!
Lucie also introduced a stellar cast of guests including Alfie Boe (The Prayer), Sam Ryder (Defying Gravity and For Good) and Jason Manford (Suddenly Seymour). But perhaps the most memorable moment was all three joining her for a powerful cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. Not bad for a £16 seat.
She also gave us a sneak preview of her Meadowlark and I cannot wait to see Lucie up close and personal at the Menier in The Baker’s Wife this summer.
I don’t suppose anyone has the full set list?

I went to the matinee - I wish I had booked the evening show as we got a very reduced songlist and the whole thing was over 3 hours with all the technical issues, and she was 25m late on.
I feel like I got a glimpse of how good it could have been, very disappointed.

I was there at the matinee too. A shame about the technical issues. I was tempted to book a seat to the evening show to see what it should have been, but feared the audio would still be down and it would be another patchwork quilt of songs.
Full credit to her and the band for putting something together on the fly for the afternoon.

Being nosy, what actually happened at the matinee?

Being nosy, what actually happened at the matinee? Started about fifteen minutes late as they were running late with their sound check. Then we got about three songs in and the sound system started cracking up during I Dreamed a Dream (causing some misplaced laughter). Jason Manford then did ten minutes stand up while they turned it all off and on again. Then Lucie came back on and they did some songs with just the piano and guitar and celloist and what must have been a back up microphone/pa system. We all got sent out the auditorium in the interval so they could test and do some more "hitting it with a hammer". After the interval she had her three guests on, all doing different songs to what was planned and did a few more that would sound fine with a limited band. But she ended with She used to be mine, which took the roof off as usual.

I completely agree that she was incredible under the circumstances, but I can't help feeling disappointed after seeing the evening concert photos.

I read on Twitter that the "sound deck collapsed" which I took to mean it literally collapsed. Glad that wasn't the case.
