Actually, I had a change of heart and booked for the first preview to put some of my built up ATG credit vouchers to good use.

Seriously disappointed with this choice. Aside from being completely tone-deaf, it just seems to be a show geared towards the demographic and generation that is going to be the last to come back to the theatre.
Re other properties. They were developing an Amy Winehouse musical. I wonder if that will count as a well known show. It'll probably be War Horse, Legally Blonde, Spamalot, Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls, Rock of Ages, Wedding Singer.

Two more jukebox musicals? Beautiful, perhaps?

I wonder what else theyβre bringing back? While I would like to see the Amy Winehouse musical, I suspect that the two shows will be revivals.

What does programmimg a revival of a recent jukebox musical have to do with restoreing consumer confidence in the theatre business? Is Jersey Boys safer than other options?

What does programmimg a revival of a recent jukebox musical have to do with restoreing consumer confidence in the theatre business? Is Jersey Boys safer than other options? Recent jukebox revivals have a brand name with a presumably built-in audience, compared to original musicals, and people might feel more comfortable seeing what they know will be a good show. They know what theyβre getting.

Interesting to see this coming back. I know some people are bummed out that a 'safe' show is going into this new theatre, but with the current situation the theatre world is in right now, it would be a wise decision to revive a show that would guarantee high ticket sales. On the subject of two revivals to be announced, why not have something like 'We Will Rock You' make a comeback, as long as it isn't the current touring version as I've heard that it's not as good as the original version that ran at the Dominion. Not saying I'm a fan of WWRY, just want to give it another go since I last saw it I think about 10 years ago.

When is this meant to open? April, but producers have publicly stated they'd delay opening if social distancing is still a thing by that point. So there is a big caveat in play.

Seriously disappointed with this choice. Aside from being completely tone-deaf, it just seems to be a show geared towards the demographic and generation that is going to be the last to come back to the theatre. Given how the vaccine is being rolled out, they might be the first back!

I just booked the (Wednesday) opening night at Wimbledon. Half price ATG card offer, though most of what I consider the best seats are being sold as VIP with drink deals so excluded.
Surprised Jersey Boys is opening in Wimbledon while still running at the Trafalgar Theatre less than 8 miles away.
I would have liked to see both productions in one day but the London matinee is on a Thursday and the half price offer only on Wednesday.

It looks stunning. A vast improvement from it's previous incarnation.

Looks amazing and I'd love to see it but I don't fancy the JB.
