Couldn't find a thread on the tour, but my local (Edinburgh Playhouse) have posted about this, so I'm guessing it's the Christmas musical for 2019. We had Kinky Boots 2018 so I guess it's back to a "family" show.

This will be at Sunderland Empire sometime next spring/summer I do believe. (Confused between this and the Book of Mormon dates they were telling me about) A friend who works there was telling me to look out for it.

If they were at least closing the West End production and send that one on tour.

How is pride rock done on tour? I doubt they install a big lift etc like they do in the WE? Saw the tour in Liverpool 4 maybe 5 years back and genuinely have no recollection, other than the first 10 mins the rest of the performance is pretty much a blank.

I personally thought the last tour was more special than the West End Production at that time. Brought it’s a game. Be interesting to see what changes if any are made this time around.

How is pride rock done on tour? I doubt they install a big lift etc like they do in the WE? It comes in on rails from stage left, and then rotates around the centre similarly to the west end production.

Just got access to the pre-sale tickets for this at the playhouse. yeah, no thanks. Once again the prices of these touring shows are absurdly high. Having two rows at the back of the balcony in a 3000 seat theatre priced £35 and £20 is a joke.

It will sell though, because there’s a whole generation of kids who haven’t seen the WE production and we’re either too young or didn’t exist last time it toured. Doting parents and grandparents will shell out for it.

top price for Bristol - most of the stalls £90

Even higher Friday to Sunday - £95. Nevertheless a lot of performances are already close to sold out
I booked a front row (AA) seat for a more reasonable £52.50 at a Wednesday matinee. However I would not recommend it for anyone under 5' 8" as it's quite a sharp look up. Rows AA and A are sold as Restricted View but still cost £95 at weekends which is a poor deal.

Stalls tickets £90 in Edinburgh, this tour will make a fortune so no surprise they're touring it again.

Any idea when this may be arriving in the WMC?

I am probably not going to see this tbf. It’s very expensive, and it doesn’t seem like my type of thing.

Any idea when this may be arriving in the WMC? My bet is it’s the Christmas show in 2020.

All of the single stalls tickets left for Bristol have been dropped to £25 if anyone is after a ‘bargain’.

Cardiff has Lion King 09/07/20 to 29/08/20. Top price £95 but not all the stalls,
