Fully agree with Marsha Songcome as a great choice, she was excellent in Evita.
Peter Polycarpou could be a good fit for Harold Zidler

The Piccadilly has the feel of the Al Hirschfeld, its feels quite intimate on broadway. I think it would get lost in a barn like the dominion I saw it on Broadway and think the Piccadilly is a good fit for the show. The Al Hirschfeld in New York isn’t a huge barn like the Palladium or Dominium. The set extends up to the side of the stage and pros arch into the stalls and dress circle anyway. It’s a fabulous visual show and I loved it. The music is stunning and it looks spectacular. I was disappointed with the weak story though sadly, this will be picked up by the critics in London for sure. It kinda spoils the whole experience sadly. Still, as a spectacle is a wow wow wow.

Jim Broadbent is not shy of the London stage either, if sales start to slide off, JB reprising the role on stage could be epic!

Douglas Hodge is such a good call. He is such a versatile performer and would be a brilliant Zidler.

I am now at the stage where I will be very disappointed if Rob ISN'T cast.
No idea who I'd like for Satine.
Agree with the above though. Sure they won't stunt cast the leads. Hope they don't stunt cast the smaller parts either TBO as it would be nice if the Prosecco bottomless brunch sets are kept away - do worry it's a show that will attract them.

Unless they've majorly deviated from the plot of the film, I think it's a great story. It's a tragic romance. What didn't you like about it?

They haven't really deviated from the movie much storyline wise (only watched it a couple of times, so no expert), the stage book isn't great though and I think the fact that the two leads were incredible but had absolutely no sexual chemistry made the story, which is essentially a love story, seem a bit weaker than it would have with more chemistry between the leads.

Looking back at my notes from NYC I had this to say about it ; (I’ll be careful with spoilers) 1 The plot is thin. In a great show there should be several layers. There isn’t much to play with here. There should be more plot running underneath, 2 The Duke was too sexy on Broadway. You need him to be a baddie. If he’s too hot and rich then why should she choose the a simple cute poor guy? 3 The tragic romance was neither funny or sad enough. I didn’t laugh and I didn’t cry. It should have done both. Instead I was amazed at the OMG set and dance routines. As a Starlight Express/Cats type visual live stage experience and piece of theatre offering style over substance it’s almost as good as it gets. I loved it. But the story was questionable and there should be more reason to hate the baddie.

Sounds like a plan. Although how anyone failed to have chemistry with Aaron Tveit is beyond me.. 😍 Can't wait to see it. I watched the film again over the weekend and it's so theatrical, it's born for the stage.

Hear me out.... Very popular with the girls (and the boys) Can sing. Proven experience on stage and musical theatre & in a high profile role. Paul Mescal for Christian.

Ooh how about Louis Maskell as Christian ? Can’t believe I didn’t think of him! The Grinning Man is one of my personal favourites and he was incredible. He’s just shot straight to the top of my dream casting. Louis > Rob > Jordan is my order of preference.

Would do a great job, but surely he’s going to be focusing on film/TV right now, especially after having such a breakthrough 2020. Can’t see him turning down film work for this show tbh.

Agreed, the lovely Jonathan is a great actor with phenomenal comic timing but he's not the strongest singer.
