Obvs Houchen, but I agree that Satine is a bit trickier. She needs to be willowy and consumptive, but stlll with enough vocal welly to hit the big moments...but classy too. If we have her, she hasn’t shown us this before. Looks like Jodie Steele but acts like Vanessa Kirby...brittle, vulnerable. Who do we have? Scherzinger would have been a great call five years ago. There are some ex-Mimi’s that might fit but I don’t know who. You obviously haven’t seen the show in New York. She ain’t Nicole Kidman anymore, the character isn’t the fragile willowy Satine of the movie. And I don’t imagine for one minute they will revert to that for London. Sorry to all of the Strallens, Glinda’s and all of the others who were probably hoping to get a chance!

Who would everyone like to see as the leads? For me, Jamie Muscato and Christine Allado

I would loved to have seen Victoria Hamilton Barret as Satine Exactly who I'd have loved to have seen. There'd have been a time ten years ago when she and Oliver Tompsett would have been perfect choices. Rob Houchen absolutely as Christian for me. I can't decide on Sarine. Christine Allado feels like a very 'fine' choice but not an exciting one.

He's great but he's 45, too old for a wide-eyed hopelessly romantic young writer 😀 Rob Houchen or Bradley Jaden for Christian. I'm struggling for Satine though. I can think of dozens of people who I don't want to be cast but no one's leaping out. Maybe Samantha Barks if she wasn't busy building ice castles. Satine won’t be White British .. they’ve set a precedent with Satine in NYC that they won’t be changing. How about Grace? All the Six fans would come out in droves. I never saw her in Six but I was impressed with her in & Juliet.

I never saw her in Six but I was impressed with her in & Juliet. Really? I thought she was a very poor alternative to Miriam Teake-Lee in &Juliet. No charisma whatsoever. Also it would be a significant draw to me personally NOT to have the Six fans out in droves. For anything, frankly (apart from Six).

There are a few other ‘Hamilton’ alumni with potential (especially if they’re trying to go similar to Karen Olivio) but none that really excite. Allado does seem like a good shout.

Shame that it won’t be Scherzinger, generally I don’t like stunt casting but I am big fan of hers, so I’d be all for that. Quite like the Christine Allado suggestion, she’s got a gorgeous voice.
As for Christian, the two that immediately stand out to me are Rob Houchen and Jordan Luke-Gage. If probably prefer Rob just because I don’t want Jordan to leave & Juliet either.

I think some of the Satine suggestions read too young for me. Might just be me, but my interpretation of both the movie and the stage Satine was that they weren't spring chickens anymore, gorgeous but definitely have been in the business for quite some time, so would expect someone more in the thirties category. To be fair, I have no idea how old Christine Allado is, but she reads mid-twenties too me, so a bit too young and Grace definitely is. In my eyes Christian was always a little younger than Satine and fairly naive.
What I really hope for, with whoever they cast as Satine and Christian, is that there is sexual chemistry there. Saw the show on Broadway a couple of times and whilst I love both Aaron and Karen individually, I never once believed their characters were in love and wanted to rip each others' clothes off. Though the book probably doesn't help either. LOL

I hope we find out soon. Feeling really starved of some actual decent theatre/casting news.

I’d pick Marsha Songcome - I was thoroughly impressed when she went on as Eva in the Regent’s Park Evita.

As southstreet said there was no chemistry between Aaron and Karen. But why are you all only saying Rob Houchen. There is nothing that says he has to have blonde floppy hair. As for age its the stage and makeup and "acting" that makes you younger or older. Aaron is 38 now and Karen 47.

Fully agree with that, would happily have someone in their forties, too, but definitely would prefer someone more 'mature' to someone in their early or mid-twenties, especially for Satine. From a completely selfish standpoint, and I know he is pushing it a little (though only a year or two older than Aaron), I would kill to see, and even more so hear, Oli Tompsett as Christian.

It can’t be a struggle, and his beautiful tone would make both ‘Your Song’ & ‘Come What May’ bring effortless joy to an audience desperate to be moved after 18 months of dreary nothingness.

They can stunt cast as many rubbish bit parts as they like...just don’t mess up the leads. If they want Onslow from ‘Keeping Up Appearances’ as the Green Fairy, you have him! Jamie Laing as the Duke? Go for it! Just give us a soaring legit voice to stun us with beauty in the lead.

Which I think they will do danb - Moulin Rouge sells itself without the need for a star so we will get the best people for the job.
