Such a shame to see Clive Carter and Jason Pennycooke leaving - they were my favourites when I saw this back in January. Lots of new faces and looks like some of our board members were right with Jamie Muscato and Melissa James! As they often are! And often much copied too.... Got to give it to our little board, you can always get the goss!

Jamie Muscato as Christian and Melissa James as Satine confirmed. Matt Rixon as Zidler, Ben Richards as The Duke and Ian Carlyle moves up from understudying to take over Toulouse. Is this the same Ben Richards who was in Priscilla? I think he’ll be great.

Less singing involved in that role though!

I guess they’re casting the Duke older than Simon? Years ago I was on holiday in Cuba and there was a very attractive couple around the pool and he was reading Michael Crawfords autobiography. Although I didn't recognise him I just knew he had to be an actor and got to chat to him at the airport on our way home. Turns out to be Ben Richards.

Nice to see Christian and Satine inching closer to playing ages that make sense for this show...

Hi!
Just after some thoughts. Can get two Row Q Stalls for £99 each or two singles in Stalls Row T and U for £59.50. Just wondering which people would recommend? Is there a lot of difference in the view from the £99 to the single seats?
Many thanks as always 😀

Definitely row Q. You don’t get as much overhang letterboxing your view.

Is there a way to get cheaper tickets for this closer to the day? My friend and I are going to London in November and would love to see this. However, the “cheapest” seats that are next to each other on that day are 145£ each which is definitely too much. Do tickets get cheaper as the date gets closer or do they sell them cheaper at the box office, if we ask them nicely? Or is it really just “pay an insane amount of money or miss out” with this show?

If there are still a fair amount of seats available, they do seem to engage in dynamic pricing closer to the performance. I’ve also seen them release extra seats for performances, but I haven’t been able to work out if this is done at a set period of time before a performance (ie two weeks, a week etc) or just randomly. Alternatively, if you are able to and willing, they release standing tickets if the show sells out or is close to a sell out.

Thank you sophie92 ! I’ve also signed up for the dayseats but I guess that chances of winning any aren’t that high. I have done standing room before and I would be fine with this if it’s the last option. But I’ll definitely keep an eye on the ticket site then to see if anything drops in price!

…but don’t expect any friendly bantering or bargaining at the box office. It was very much ‘this is whats available, take it or leave it!’ in June when I tried.

If they don’t need to reduce timely prices, why would they? It’s not a charity. Because many theatres do. I’ve walked up 20 minutes before curtain up at well-sold shows and been given a house seat at a day seat price, long after the day seats have sold out. This has happened more than once. In this case they don’t, and he was just sharing his experience of that situation, which I think is fair enough and the very point of this board to be fair.
