Can anybody thjnk of any shows that should come to London next year when there's a huge change in theatres?
I'm stilly praying on a Color Purple and Mary Poppins transfer!

I doubt The Color Purple will transfer, I think would have transferred after its run at the Menier a few years back if they had plans for a West End run.

Genie in Aladdin is a supporting role, when I saw the try out for this in Toronto, I said that James Monroe Igleheart was amazing and said at the time he will bag the Tony and he unduly did.
Finding Neverland will go into a bigger theatre in London than the Aldwych, the producers know the show is done in New York and will close soon, maybe end of August, that is why they have cast Alfie Boe more for the London transfer, where he will sell tickets. Mind you once he finishes up, the show will flounder.
I guess we have now lost Cynthia Envio to New York now and even more so when she will win the Tony, just like Lea Salonga.
Now say never hat will transfer to London, who would have thought that Dreamgirls would eventually come over? So never say never with shows like Aida and Tarzan happening, will not be it the near future though, as London has a glut of family shows at the moment.

Are suggesting that Aida and Tarzan are coming here, or that they could possibly one day?

TBH I think Bonnie & Clyde has totally missed the boat at this point. I think if there's any hope it'll be done at the St. James, Southwark or a smaller fringe company. I also think that Color Purple won't survive in a West End house. It's an iconic film in the US, and it means a lot to the African American community, which will certainly keep it successful and alive for some time to come. Add to that its message of salvation and you have the perfect show for Sunday worshippers. They simple have the market and demographic in the US to keep it going, whereas in the UK it'll be a bit more niche.
Hedwig I think is the only one that has a chance of opening. There is an upcoming US tour with long stopovers in major cities, and they were very serious when they said they want it to run in London and base it on the recent Broadway production. I think this might still have a chance.
I tend to feel discouraged when shows that are about two seasons old end up opening in London. I feel that they lose their relevance and come out of nowhere in the West End not having kept momentum from Broadway, especially if they have already closed in the US. Chorus Line comes to mind, as does Memphis.

I don't think it will last as long over her as it did in the US. I think if it went to a huge house like Drury Lane it could close really quickly

The Color Purple trailer for Broadway is so beautiful! The book is amazing and I think it would do quite well over here in a small theatre like the Noel Coward, with a nice cast

Also I would love to see the Broadway production of A Rasin in the Sun transfer here with Sopie Okoedo and Adrian Lester. They are marvellous together in Undercover and Sophie Okonedo needs to come back to London stage!

I doubt there would be so much anticipation of the production coming here for the first time ever just for it to run for a year It will have a Miss Saigon-esque run... which apparently had one of the biggest advances for a musical ever... that worked out well in terms of it being a long run *sarcasm*. Was that struggling at the end?

I will most likely be in the minority, however I do not love JMI as the genie and I don't think his performance (from ones I have seen are Tony worthy in my opinion). He seems to run out of breath easily and lag towards the end of routines and at times not have a spark. I don't know, I just don't love him as much as a lot of people do.

Considered we had to wait until Februrary to book good seats in the stalls it is selling quite good. Lots of good seats in the stalls have gone in days like Saturday etc. Also, the show has never been to London before & people want to see it, so I think it will sell quite well, it's not a revival it's a new musical for us in England.

Why wouldn't the producers put the tickets on sale? Surely the reason for selling the seats is to gain money otherwise it would be free. How are they earning money if they are holding seats back? Loads of people are going to see this show, I'm pretty certain it would be a flop.

That, and the ticketing agencies have probably got a fairly big allocation too. There's absolutely no way it's nearly sold out 6 months in advance, that only happens for mega-hits like Hamilton (and even then I doubt Hamilton will sell out that quickly over here in advance when it does eventually come over, it'll more be a hot ticket after it opens like Mormon was).
