Safe to say this will be returning next summer then....
Maybe the Lord will be brave enough to try and get the tired Kenwright production off of the road (it deserves a lifetime achievement award) and get this new production out.

Saw this tonight. Enjoyed it far more than expected and actually liked Jason for once (never liked him in ANYTHING before). Sheridan did get a bit much at times

Jason surprised me, he was very energetic but seemed to be playing Frank’n’Furter. The kids were good, Jac sang well (would have loved to see his Jack Kelly) but I really couldn’t get on with SS. But mostly it was the production. Who was the narrator? Why was she knocking about with them kids? It just needed framing somehow and for Linzi to appear out of that trapdoor just once.

I saw the matinee today and walked away very happy.
I have to admit some of the original soundtracks bored me, but this production put an extra sparkle into even those songs. The nod to creative teachers inspiring children works so well and I did like the hints of modern technology used throughout.
I'm still not sold on Donovan but he attracts large ticket sales and he wasn't as bad as the BGT performance he gave.
The orchestrations are beautiful and I enjoyed how they and their MD got involved at the end from the confines of the pit.
One thing I did spot is how easy it would be to tour the production, I wouldn't be surprised if Harrison Tours the production. He'll probably do what he did with Annie, bring it back for a limited run and then venture out on a UK tour.
It's time the BK production was laid to rest and with even blood brother's touring to much smaller venues next year it does seem he's cutting back his operations.

Wasn’t a lot wrong with it last night...nothing that sounded like laryngitis anyway.

It was all in the kids vocals & volume, but as a whole it did the trick. Whoever booked her an extra gig at the end of a run? Bonkers.

Nothing that a few weeks in the sun somewhere hot won't put right ..... I think that this comment is extremely insensitive, especially in a forum about musicals. Vocal damage is an very serious thing that most people who do not sing professionally cannot really understand. It could take you 5 minutes to educate yourself about it rather than write something like that.

This is returning to the Palladium next year.. about to be announced. Thought it might. It's been a big hit for them. Although I didn’t love it, it was clear that most everyone else did. Standing O before it had even finished. Very mixed audience. If it gets people to the theatre it’s all good. (Apart from the very unusual family in front of us who's two children were bored stiff fidgeting and talking the whole way through whilst M&D lapped it up, totally ignoring them whilst all around them suffered grrrr)

With this same cast? Since I gather this production has been tailored for Sheridan would she return?

^Hope she has a lovely restful time and hope that the tabloid journos and paps don’t pursue her as in the past.

I had laryngitis once- it was horrible, came on really quickly and I couldn’t even whisper for the best part of a week.
I’m not in tonight unfortunately to see Sheridan’s understudy (I like to see understudies when I can!) but a good friend of mine is and it’ll be interesting to get some feedback!

Wish I was there tonight! (nothing against Sheridan, I'd just love the chance to see her understudy fill those boots)

I wonder what Vanessa's wig and costume were like? Are there any photos anywhere?

I wonder what Vanessa's wig and costume were like? Are there any photos anywhere? Same blue costume as Sheridan. Same wig styling, just a brown hair colour to compliment her skin. (She has some stories on Instagram)

So she was apparently very very good vocally- played it straighter than Sheridan and there weren’t any “still me” lines in like SS normally does.

I’m at the matinee tomorrow. There’s no way I’m seeing SS, right?
